Do yourself a favor and look at another model this one is a complete waste of time even when it is "working"

Summary: What an utter piece of junk this thing really is. We have had it for 9 months and it does not clean dishes well at all, now it has broken for the second time. Do yourself a favor and look at another model this one is a complete waste of time even when it is "working".
Summary: We bought this dishwasher to replace an aging Kitchenaid (that one lasted over 20 years). Our old dishwasher quit suddenly just before Thanksgiving and I scrambled to find a dishwasher I could pick up and install that day. I soon discovered that stores don't stock many dishwashers. This model was in stock at our local Bestbuy store for right at $300, we like our other Whirlpool products, so I went with it.
Summary: The silver ware basket in this model is not designed well at all. The compartments are very small and there are openings at the bottom which allow the spoons and forks etc. to slide through the side of the compartment and get lodged partly in one compartment and partly in the next compartment. It is difficult to get them out. I tried to get a replacement basket but can not find one which fits. I hope Whirlpool puts out a replacement basket to solve the problem.
Summary: The only downfall to this dishwasher is the silverware basket in the door. It is a little crowded on the side the soap dispenser is on. Very hard to get anything but short utensils in and out of it.
Pros: Convenient Features, Easy to use, Energy Savings, Performance, Sound level
This product has great features and is very quiet.

Summary: I have been very pleased with the performance of this product. It has been several years since I have enjoyed a dishwasher and the easy loading and quietness of this product have made it a joy to use. The dishes come out sparkling!
Summary: The best feature is the noise level. With an open-to-the-den kitchen our last one competed with the TV. This new dishwasher is so quiet that I do not have to wait to run it. The only con would be that the interior does not seem as large as my last one but is really adequate size-wise. This is well priced and cleans well.
Pros: Convenient Features, Easy to use, Performance, Sound level
Summary: I have a hard time getting knives in and out of the basket that's under the detergent holder. I love the individual slots for the silverware though. Most of the time I have to put large cooking utensils on the upper rack instead in the middle of the door. Other than these two comments, I really like the dishwasher. Mine is white not stainless steel. It cost about $60 less then the stainless steel model. All my appliances are white--personal choice.
Summary: I purchased on recommendation of the repairman who evaluated my high priced dishwasher which the Whirlpool replaced. He suggested Whirlpool stating he has less repair calls concerning this product. The fact that it is American made is also important to me. The washer was reasonable in price, does a better job than its high priced predecessor, and is quiet.
