Summary: Just remodeled our kitchen & made the mistake thinking this was going to be a good investment. The old dishwasher we took out was easier to load, got the dishes a whole lot cleaner, didn't have to run as long to do it & didn't make near the constant annoying noise this one does.
We tried to take it back after the first week of being installed, but they wouldn't take it back because we took it out of the box (duh).
Summary: We are very disappointed that the bottom rack does not stay on the track. We called Sears complaining that they need to take it back. They agreed. However, we would be stuck with installing a new one. We do not see ourselves buying another Maytag or dealing with Sears unless this is resolved. We refuse to pay for installation since they sold us a defective product. It is unfortunate that today's major appliances are not made with quality as was years ago.
Summary: The unit cleans well, although the cycle is a lot longer. It is smaller inside. Not too loud, but not the quietest either. My main complaint is that when the unit is running it give off the worst smell like plastic is melting. It comes from the vent at the top of the door. We literally have to leave the room because it makes everyone feel ill.
Summary: second maytag product i have replaced that was 2 years old, installed maytag microwave and dishwasher when i remodeled the kitchen 2 years ago. i have a letter from maytag informing me they only make thier products to last a few years. thats why we dont see the maytag man anymore after a few years they through him out..
Summary: I purchased this dishwasher because my old one broke down. This dishwasher has a nice design inside and out. I installed it myself replacing the old dishwasher so the physical space was ready. The directions were easy to follow. It looks great. It runs quiet and gets everything super clean. I've actually washed pots in here because I was lazy and didn't want to wash them by hand. Everything came out clean.
Summary: (Actually I have the black model -AWB, but no point in mixing the reviews since all of the 7759s are the same machine). First off, this dishwasher is the answer to my prayers (quiet) and my wife's (cleans really well). The cheap Whirlpool it replaced made a racket and left crud all over the machine and sometimes on the dishes too. I have had it for 6 months now and it works perfectly and is virtually self-cleaning. Love the stainless interior.
Summary: We had this Maytag (Whirlpool) dishwasher (model #MDB7759AWS) delivered to our house on 11-3-2011. It was installed a couple of days later, so it has been up and running for alittle under a month. We were having our kitchen remodeled and were living with just a microwave and paper plates for a good two weeks. I finally unpacked a "regular" plate and used the microwave to reheat some Mexican food.
Summary: Word to the wise.............. There is NO MORE Maytag Corp.......... Whirlpool puts in there parts in and slaps a Maytag sticker on it. Quality has long gone from the Maytag name.............
Summary: After 6 months it is still quiet and cleans beautifully. Our taller dishes didn't fit in the old washer but they're not a problem with this one. If I had a complaint it would be that it takes a long time to complete a cycle. Since we're never waiting on dishes, it's a non-issue. We're moving soon and plan to buy the exact model for our new house. I guess that means I would recommend it!
