Summary: This unit is pretty easy to install as far as dishwashers go. With my old LG, I had to prewash everything in the sink, and just use the machine as a sterilizer, or the grim would bake onto the utensils. With the new Maytag, you can put in plates with dried junk, and after a cycle they will come back perfectly clean. What more can you say about a reasonable priced machine that actually works well!
Summary: My husband and I purchased this dishwasher 1 1/2 years ago after we had a house fire. After only 6 months the dishwasher option buttons for normal and heavy wash stopped working, and the entire keypad unit (and the entire dishwasher itself) stopped working after 1 1/2 years of use. We had a repairman come out to give us an estimate for repair and we were quoted $489.00 to replace the keypad and repair the unit.
Cons: Low quality, Not durable, no customer sup, noisey, expensive
Summary: After 2.5 yrs the control panel went out. The repair man even said it should not have gone out being so new. Now at less than 5 yrs old I turn it on sometimes it washes and sometimes it just shuts off after a few minutes of washing. I just replaced my washer/dryer....needless to say, Maytag wasn't even looked at. Now I'm going to replace this piece of junk and will NOT buy another Maytag and then will replace my refrigerator and not with a Maytag.
Summary: Like so many other reviews have stated, the electronic control panel lasted less than two years. Repairman quoted the cost of a new panel at $483. Needless to say, I will not replace it, but will buy a different brand of dishwasher and get rid of this one. Buyers: be sure your new dishwasher comes with a 5 year warranty on electronics. This Maytag has only 1 year....
Summary: The first time it broke it was still under warranty. Maytag sent a repairman out. He found that the circuit board needed to be replaced. He came back in a week and replaced the part. No cost to us. 2 years later it broke again. seems to be a similar problem. The price to fix it is $130 plus parts. The electronic parts cost well over $100. We decided to replace the dishwasher with another brand. Too bad, it cleaned well.
Summary: Start button no longer works. We had this problem about 7 months after purchasing the washer, and it was covered under warranty. The repair man commented that was the most expensive part to replace... well, now less than a year later we need a new one again. Thinking we will just buy a new dishwasher instead this time. Such a shame because it is a nice looking dishwasher, unfortunately my husband will from now on refuse to buy an integrated dishwasher!
Summary: We've had this dishwasher for around 2 years and just today the start button stopped working, as well as the dely and cancel button. While trying to figure out if it would be more cost efficient to repair or replace, we were reading the other reviews and noted that this was a common and expensive problem. We will buy a new one as we already are unhappy with how this dishwasher cleans our dishes.
Summary: The gasket on the door which seals the unit shut when closed is perhaps a 1/4 wide. The Maytag man came out and readjusted the door to make it seal without leaking. Why in the world companies skimp on something as important as a watertight gasket is beyond my comprehension. How about spending $5 more to ensure a tight fit. Time will tell what other critical components were skimped on.
Summary: I was trying to buy a less expensive unit for our carriage house and boy what a mistake that was. I normally buy Miele and you don't even know they are running. This unit is so loud you cannot even talk over it. I now put the delay wash cycle on and do the cycle in the middle of the night when i am sleeping.
Summary: We bought in 2006 and in 2010 needed replacement part that cost nearly as much as new dishwasher, now our over stove Maytag Microwave door will not shut. The only way to repair is to buy a new door that is 270 plus 30 shipping. Why will I pay $300 to fix a 4 year old microwave when I can buy a new one for that price or less!! Poor quality that does not last and is very costly to fix. I hope my refrigerator and stove hold up better.
