Summary: I've had this dishwasher for just over one year. tomorrow will make the 5th time a repair man has come out to fix what is always the drain pump. consumer cannot get to it, as the unit has to be removed and placed on it's back. the drain pump has been replaced twice already. It may look good, but is a product that needs to be removed from the market.
Summary: Most reviews are done early in the ownership lifetime of the appliance. Here’s a longer run view of the design flaws that exist in LG dishwashers. I am replacing my high end LG dishwasher after less than two years of use. The dishwasher failed due to a cracked fitting on the water intake which failed during the night and caused about $10K in damage to a kitchen hardwood floor, and to drywall and carpeting in a finished basement.
Summary: I came across this while looking for parts (again) for this POS dishwasher. It's horrible. We had some code right after the warranty expired and it turned out to be the entire motor assembly in the bottom of the unit. That worked for a week, then the main board was dead and had to be replaced. Luckily, I'd purchased an extended warranty after the motor was replaced and that was covered. Since then, it threw the dreaded HE error.
Summary: We bought 4 appliances thinking they will match and look really nice. HUGE MISTAKE LG Dishwasher is the BIGGEST piece of crap. It's been services 5 times and LG will not replace it. I have it completely rebuilt with pictures of the repair man and LOTS of boxes of new parts. NOW, it's not working again. LG Microwave - didn't take the warranty but should have (thinking it's only $500, what could go wrong?
Summary: The warranty is only 1 year on labor and 2 years on parts and it's like having a root canal to get them to do anything with regards to the warranty. The first dishwasher lasted 2 months and had to be replaced and that was a 4 week process with 4 visits with a maintenance man, many phone calls and several emails and I ended up installing the dishwasher. The new dishwasher had an oil smell when it was running and was noisy until it died with a L1 error code.
Summary: We replaced a 15 year old dishwasher with this new LG...what a mistake. It cleans OK, but is difficult to load and makes horrible noises. The kids call it the Dish Monster because it is so loud.
Summary: After only a year and two months after purchase of our LG LDS4821ST dishwasher (LG Inverter Direct Drive in stainless), our dishwasher is obviously having a drain pump issue, and thankfully we purchased the service plan at Home Depot. This washer SUCKS. It's become noisy, the panel freaks out and sometimes you cannot choose certain wash cycles, and now this drain pump issue. It's a HUGE piece of shit.
Summary: Wish I would've seen these reviews before buying. Went on advice of Home Dept Appliance Manager. The True Steam Technology dishwasher has been a disaster from day 1. Hard to install. Does NOT effectively clean on normal or quick wash cycle. Called LG Helpline to find out why & their answer was to run it on the expensive 2 hour "power scrub" setting!!!! Wow, 2 weeks old & I'm regretting this machine!!! My next step today is to see if we can return it for full credit.
Summary: This has been a terrible product from day one. Hard to install, 2 hours 6 min to run a normal load, never dries the dishes, if the dishes aren't clean when you load the dishwasher they don't get clean, the bottom drawer comes off the track every time and you have to lift the whole loaded drawer up to get back on track, there is no solid connection to the cabinet so it moves around every time you open the door. One positive thing, it looks good.
Summary: I put all new LG major appliances in my kitchen and all of them broke in one way or another, within less than 2 years. I agree LG customer service is heinous in every way. This dishwasher broke completely for me after a year and a half and I didn't purchase the extended warranty so I am out the $900 I paid for this piece of junk.
