Summary: We purchased this dishwasher to replace one that we were pretty unhappy with. This new washer addressed all of our concerns and is a dream replacement! We really love the stainless steel interior which stays nice and clean. The one hour wash is more than fine for what we need and if we need extra scrubbing from time to time, this machine can totally handle that too. Once it goes through the dry cycle the disher are really dry! Wow, just like it's supposed to be!
Summary: Do not buy this product. There is design flaw in how the lock is installed and it will not engage. I had it delivered and was able to use for a weekbefore it would not start. Had to wait over a week for service person who reset the lock. It worked for less than a week, and is again out of commission. I'm returning this one. Very unhappy that Kitchenaid doesn't do a better job of quality control.
Summary: This machine is mediocre. Ours is two years old and while it performs adequately most of the time, its overall performance tends to be in the ho hum category. The latest dilemma involved issues with dishes in the top rack. When bowls used for dry cereal and milk come out with flakes stuck to the bowls, you know quality is absent. Recently an entire load came out most ordinary.
Summary: I had this installed in our vacation home and I think it is simply wonderful. It is VERY quiet and if you use the 1 hour wash option, it gets the dishes clean quickly. I have no interest in a 3 hour cycle so I will probably never use it. I have no regrets.
Summary: You need to wash dishes before you wash in the dish washer. I had an old kitchen where you could put a whole cow in it and it would wash it down the drain. One little piece of potato or carrot will get stuck in the drain underneath the bottom washer. You need to remove the spinning washers blades and then remove the 4 screws to get to the drain to unplug it. Then there is another screw that has a chopper blade behind a housing with a screen that needs to be cleaned.
