Summary: I thought that having the two drawers would be great. The smaller one for when there are only a few dishes instead of having those dirty dishes sitting the the dishwasher waiting for a full load. But the smaller drawer uses the same amount of water as the larger drawer. So where is the benefit? Also, with only the one rotating arm at the bottom of each drawer for spraying water the dishes don't get clean.
Summary: This dishwasher came with the condo and looked impressive. However, even for 2 it doesn't hold anything, can't put anything of size in it, just little things. The lower one is so low, it's difficult to use. Also, we have to take it apart and clean it regularly as it collects black slime, apparently it doesn't drain well. Yes, we've had 2 repairmen out here and there doesn't seem to be a problem, it's just way the works. I'm saving for another one.
Summary: We have had a FP dual drawer dishwasher in our kitchen for 8 years and have never had a need to call a repairman. My wife and I are empty nesters and it takes a couple or three days for us to fill a drawer. Yet, it manages to fulfill our needs when we have guests or a family gathering. This unit is certainly energy efficient and If you use a HE dishwasher soap and keep the rinse compartment full with the recommended ingredient then you should never have a problem.

Summary: The design is a great idea; two separate draws makes it convenient and efficient. Have had it for about 10 years and it has broken 3 times; qualified.repairmen are hard to find and repairs are very expensive. Cycles are long, machine makes a lot of noise after about 12 months; all dishes have to be rinsed before putting in the machine otherwise they do not come clean even on a heavy duty cycle; does not dry well. Both draws have the same poor performance.
Summary: Have had our FP Paykel double drawer dishwasher for well over two years now and continue to enjoy it. We had read all the negative reviews then and decided to go ahead and install one. Initially had a problem with the upper unit not starting consistently (very annoying) - until the second repairman immediately identified the problem. It hadn't been installed properly - not leveled and no screws into the cabinet frame. Once he corrected these it has run perfectly since.
Summary: Purchased one on advice from neighbor not realizing this dishwasher is all form and bragging rights and not performance. Great if you have few plates, cups and simple items--in other words not larger more difficult loads. Must scrape and rise plates, bowls and never put anything in that might need real dishwashing. Silver ware--horrible. Forget large items like casseroles, cooking dishes. Top drawer is nice--easy but again don't put in anything challenging or load up.
Review based on five years experience with product

Summary: Having owned this product for five years, I would certainly guide not to purchase. I agree this is a great concept although poorly executed. Repaired at least 5 times. The service man even ordered us Sapir parts so we could do home repairs that he felt were bound to occur. Not a good sign. Not working again right now, $400 repair required!
Summary: I purchased two Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers in 2005. Mine has been completely trouble free from day of installation. I've never had to call for a repair or maintenance. I understand others have had problems, but wanted to give the other side. I do not have the model pictured here with one tub being extra tall. Rather mine are two drawers of the same size, one above the other.
Summary: We purchased a Fisher Paykel double drawer in 2006- I am on a first name basis with the repairman! we have had the motor replaced three times in the top drawer and once in the bottom. Several times the latches that close the drawers have broken. Now we have a hose that is leaking into our basement. I love the concept of a double drawer but as the repairman says- double the things that can go wrong.
Summary: We have had this dishwasher for 10 months now and are really pleased with it. It is a rather delicately engineered product, and you do need to take care loading and unloading it--you don't just throw everything in like in a junk dishwasher. But you can hardly hear it running, een when both drawers are going at the same time. We had it delivered and a local plumber installed it for us. We are now thinking of buying another one for our other house.
