Summary: I purchased this unit a few weeks ago to replace a older Kenmore Elite. It does a great job of cleaning the dishes and it very quiet BUT who ever designed the top and bottom racks obviously never had to do dishes in real life. The bottom rack is great for plates and desert bowls BUT try to put in a pot or two or a large bowl. The tines are all in wrong places and slanted.
Summary: Most horrible experience ever with an appliance. Three service calls due to no heated water in cycle so dishes never got clean. Awful spray arm design as they clog up very easily. No one could find the problem. Bosch told us we didn't know how to load a dishwasher and refused to replace it. We are trashing it after two years of struggling and are researching others.
Summary: This is the quietest dishwasher we've had in 40 years. It cleans very well and would merit 5 stars plus if only the bottom rack did not mis-track so easily. To load bottom rack, the door has to be completely open (reasonable) but if the bottom rack is more than 2/3 pulled out, the wheels will slide off their roll path. You have to manually lift the basket with two hands, and not rattle the plates, to reposition it.
Pros: Attractive Design, Cleans Well, Energy Efficient, Manual Very Helpful, Quiet, Simple Controls, Top Rack Clearance Great
Summary: Bosch is the worst dishwasher i'v ever owned, I have to wash off every spot before putting them in the dishwasher. Most of the time it is easier just to wash my dishes by hand. I have owned dishwashers for the past 45 years and this is the worst ever. my son also has a Bosch and does not like the construction the top shelf and basket do not work properly.
Summary: After 2 weeks, the only I can say is: It is badly designed. There are waste of space that nothing can fit. The rack keep falling out of the tracks, the basket has 2 hooks that hit the rubber each time that you close the door... Not a great product. Seems to wash OK and very quiet. But at the price, I prefer my old cheap dishwasher.
Summary: Bosch Ascenta failure to dry dishes-- I purchased a Bosch Ascenta lauded to dry dishes without a heating element rather using a fan to dry the dishes. It was sold on the premise of saving money on utilities. My experience, dishes with a convex bottom (concave in the washer) continue to hold water 4 hours after the wash cycle has ended. Additionally, my utensils are still wet. I expected more.
Summary: HAVE READ THE GOOD AND THE BAD ABOUT THIS DISHWASHER. NO ONE MENTIONED A TERRIBLE ODOUR THAT COMES FROM IT. I CONSTANTLY WIPE OFF THE STAINLESS STEEL PANEL ON THE DOOR. MIGHT HELP A LITTLE, BUT NEVERTHELESS IS STILL THERE. EVERYTIME I OPEN THE DOOR, I NEARLY FALL BACKWARDS. SMELLS LIKE GARBAGE. ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.
Expensive to repair, little documentation, unit is dead.

Summary: We bought our Bosch because we felt it would raise the resale value of our house. Little did we know we would end up here a lot longer than we thought that we would. Eh. Housing market. Anyway, at first this thing ran like a dream. It was so quiet. But then it died and would intermittently start up on it's own and run forever. We had to kill the breaker to shut it off.
Summary: It has taken some time to figure out an efficient loading pattern. The extremely quiet dishwasher cleans very well, so a little inconvenience is OK. I wish I could turn off the heated drying to save energy. Overall I'm happy with it.
