Excerpt: This dishwasher is very loud and obnoxious, but it cleans very well. I like the 1-hour mode, it gets the job done in a short amount of time. The heated dry doesn't work too well, so once the dishes are clean I'll pull out both of the racks and let them air dry.
Excerpt: I have had my Amana dishwasher for 3 years now and it is still running strong. I don't have any water quality issues such as hard water or mineral-rich water, so I cannot speak to how it would fare in those conditions.
For a super cheap dishwasher, it gets the job done

Excerpt: The Amana built-in dishwasher (we have the model that is black) works okay. It is not super durable or very high-quality, but it works better than the dishwasher we replaced. We live in a rental house, and this is the model the landlord picked to replace our old broken dishwasher.
Excerpt: This is an excellent case of you get what you pay for. It's a cheap dishwasher that does at best a mediocre job of washing dishes. It cannot seem to handle a full load of dishes and a full dispenser of rinse aid at the same time and the machine will self-cancel.
Summary: My previous Maytag just quit ( the soft touch panel would not allow switching on). I had only used it 20 times but it was 3 yesrs old so no warranty and not worth repairing. I asked my appliance dealer for a basic model.
Excerpt: We purchsed this dishwasher at a local big box store for a very economical price. It doesn't have many features, but it does have a pretreat cycle and heated dry cycle. The run time including the preteat cycle is about 45 minutes.
Excerpt: I think this is a decent dishwasher and I liked the price, but it's definitely got some problems. The most irritating thing was when the handle broke and it wouldn't open. It cost $152 to put a new handle on, which seems absolutely ridiculous for something that cost under $300.
Excerpt: Amana was one of a few choices when we decided to buy local instead of going to a big box store in an effort to support our local economy. We chose this model because we didn't want the stainless steel inside, as it seemed loud and much more pricey anyway.
Excerpt: I bought my dishwasher at HOME DEPOT because a lot of people I know have bought things there, and when/ifthey had a problem, HOME DEPOT always STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.Well, this is NOT TRUE> I bought an Amana Dishwasher from HOME DEPOT, in the end of May 2009 and paid the $100 to have it...
