Excerpt: Purchased the Sony Alpha 77 for my boss who was still using shooting 35mm film. The camera works with the Minolta AF lens that he had for his SLR so he didn't have to buy a bunch of new ones. His other request was the ability to panoramic photos which the A77 does. The camera is easy for him to use and produces great quality photos.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Excerpt: This camera is being replaced by the A77ii, so it has dropped considerably in price. As an enthusiast (but not a professional) this has everything I need. Spending more for the new version might make sense for an actual pro, but for an avid enthusiast this hits the sweet spot between price and options very well.
Pros: Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Summary: Ok, let's start with the "con": you cannot tether this camera. The a700 could be tethered. The a77 cannot. It's not a huge drawback, but it is a drawback. What do you use tethering for? Controlling the camera from your computer. Transferring the pictures directly and immediately to a computer (for a client or someone else to look at). For easily seeing the pictures on a large screen, rather than the screens on the camera. And...using this in a photobooth!
Excerpt: Anteriormente tuve una Canon, después una Sony A65 y ahora la A77 y la verdad es que ha superado mis expectativas, pensé que no tendría mucho avance comparando con la A65 pero si tiene muchas mejoras y lo valen. Excelente Camara.
Pros: Calidad De Los Colores, El Cuerpo Robusto, Los Puntos De Enfoque, Precio
Summary: I purchased the camera after looking on line at reviews as well as visiting local camera stores. I had thought that I would purchase a Nikon or Canon since I had owned them previously. After looking at the features of the Sony and its price in relation to what others were offering, the decision was easy. I have used this camera a couple of weeks and am very pleased with the quality and ease of use.
Excerpt: Bought this camera/lens combination and a battery grip. These replace a Sony A100 that I still use occasionally. The A77 constanly amazes me with the pictures it produces. It captures subtle shade gradients in sunrise and sunset-twilight shots like I've always wanted to get. Added a Tamron 70-300 DI lens to the kit and am very pleased. Prints from 5 X7 to 33 X 44 are nothing short of amazing.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Excerpt: I am a professional natural history filmmaker and needed a versatile camera that could shoot high resolution stills and full HD video at 60p for less than [$] for the body. I did a ton of research and this was the camera I decided to get. I have spent a lot of time learning it and it does what I need. Take the time to experiment and you'll find it is capable of shooting beautiful photos as well as video, but it is not a $5000 camera. Don't compare it to one.
Pros: Easy To Use Automatic, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Cons: Could be quieter, Movie Control Issues, Noisy At High ISO
