  • Excerpt: I use this camera as a second and backup camera. My main shooter is the SONY A99 and the A77 is a great addition to my gear. Nothing new to learn and works with everything I currently have. Looking forward to the next full frame camera that Sony will put out.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Tilt /Swivel LCD
  • Cons: Lack of Accessories

Game Changer!

  • Excerpt: After months of research and educating myself on DSLR cameras, I decided to go for the Sony A77. The electronic viiewfinder allows you to be more proficient in preparing the still picture if needed. The viewfinder is like a bionic eye/helper that can display a lot of great information about the mode you are in. The first stills uploaded to the computer are impressive. The camera is easy to use and the quality of the camera and 16-50mm lens are top notch.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Battery Life, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD

Sony A77 performance

Walt Miller, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I upgraded from the A65 (which was a great starter camera) but the A77 will take my new business to the next level. It's more durable, has a few more accessories, and great in low light.

No regrets with this camera

Ohio Shopper, Amazon
14 January 2014
  • Summary: I looked at cameras a long time before making a decision. For the money, I felt this was the very best option to get the features I wanted. I have been using the a77 for 14 months now, and I think Sony has done a great job with this camera to get up to speed with the big players in the category. So much thought went into the design of the camera. Sony really thought through how the user would interact with the camera, both from a hardware and software standpoint.

Have You Tried A Sony DSLT Lately

William Bash "Someone Who Still Cares", Amazon
8 January 2014
  • Summary: The Sony A77V or VM DSLT Mirror Camera is now over two years old since its release. Yet it still remains one of the best sellers (like the Canon EOS 60D or Nikon D5200) in that it is a true pro-sumer bridge type camera system. This product is not a professional's grade camera, nor is it a beginners-end DSLR/DSLT type product.

NICE!

Domide, B&H Photo
7 January 2014
  • Excerpt: I've just had it for a couple of weeks - but it exceeds expectations. While a little heavier and larger than my A57, the extra mega pixels offer better photos. I also like the advantage of having a vertical grip/battery holder available. The menus are familiar, and the external controls are a real advantage (hate to dig through menus, etc. to change things!). All in all, a very good buy.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
  • Cons: Noisy At High ISO

Outstanding Camera

  • Excerpt: Upgraded from Sony A580 to the A77. A77 is a solidly built camera with lots of very useful features including the Micro Len adjustments to offset those common backfocusing issues. Recommend getting a fast SD card if you are serious about using the 12 FPS burst !!
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Feature Set, Good Image Quality, Large Clear LCD, Price, Tilt /Swivel LCD

excellent camera

Ted, B&H Photo
6 January 2014
  • Excerpt: I shoot mostly architecture and landscapes but also do birding and shoot some sports. I need to work on the raw files and learn how to correct them. The raw is not great out of the camera and requires editing. The jpegs on the other hand are stellar and the processor adjusts them unbelievably. I owned the a55 when it came out and was reticent to buy this camera. The a55 even with a class 10 card had terrible ovf blackout.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD

An amazing camera!

Picman, B&H Photo
5 January 2014
  • Excerpt: Photography is a hooby for me and I have had several cameras over the years. This by far is the best one! The ease of use and the ability to use the Minolta autofocus lenses make for a good combination. I have not found anything that I dislike about the camera so far.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
