Summary: Since I own Minolta auto-focus lenses, the cameras I use are Sony. This camera (Alpha SLT-A77) is awesome. The Translucent mirror makes the camera quieter. The photos I have taken with this camera look better than ever. I like the way the controls are arranged and it feels good in my hands. The photos are very sharp and I especially like the ISO range. I shoot many low light images, and this camera works very well for me. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Summary: I bought this camera used from Amazon - saved a bunch of money, and the camera is in premium condition. I've had mixed luck with Amazon used products in the past due to lack of detailed descriptions, but I hit the jackpot on this camera. Very pleased.
Summary: I purchased this item on February 5, 2013 so I feel I can give a pretty decent review now. I liked the a77 at first. It took great photos, did everything I wanted it to do. About 6 months after owning it I noticed spots on my photos. After testing the lens on another camera I determined it was the a77 so I sent it in to be looked at and as it was still under warranty it was fixed back to brand new. No more spots. I was pretty happy, until today.
I'm not a photographer. But now, I take photos like one!

Summary: This SLR is amazing!! I have had it for 6 months now and held off writing a review because I wanted give it a good test. For those who complain that it is not a true SLR. Frankly, I say whatever!!! Look at my photos and tell me your complaints again. I have people ask me all the time, "Who took these photos" of my beautiful wife and little girl. I smile and say "ME". This camera can be as easy to use as a point and shoot or you can make it as difficult as you want.
Excerpt: First the bad. Slow response time in waking up or tuning on. This is even with f/w v1.07. Battery stamina isn't that great to begin with, but setting a longer timeout before sleep drains it more. Noise is quite evident beginning at ISO400. Big downer because sometimes to keep the shutter speed up, ISO needs to be increased. Biggest downer - slideshow effect and lag just doesn't work for fast paced action. Period.
Excerpt: This has been on my 'To-Do' list for quite some time: So I have owned the A77 since the week it first shipped out in the US back in October 2011. I bought so that I may have it in time for the birth of my daughter. My review here is based on my 2.5+ years of use of the camera through a variety of scenarios and using the latest firmware. I will only be referencing RAW capabilities since that is all that I shoot.
Summary: Ok, let's start with the "con": you cannot tether this camera. The a700 could be tethered. The a77 cannot. It's not a huge drawback, but it is a drawback. What do you use tethering for? Controlling the camera from your computer. Transferring the pictures directly and immediately to a computer (for a client or someone else to look at). For easily seeing the pictures on a large screen, rather than the screens on the camera. And...using this in a photobooth!
Summary: I got this for a few years now and it's awesome! I've taken thousands of photos with it already. I'm not a professional but I love taking photos. I love the bundled F2.8 lens, the fastest lens I own so far.
Summary: Very nice and professional pictures. I did watch some youtube videos on how to use this thing. I am one of those people who hates taking pictures from cellphone at night time... so i use this camera and the results are pretty.
