Excerpt: I have always liked this camera. It uses my beloved Minolta 'secret handshake', 500 mirror and 200 f/2.8 'i will never sell' lenses. I got the 'plastic fantastic' lenses to facilitate interoperation between this and my NEX 5T. Its occasional use flash is nice for 'surprise flash' needs. The modes work quite well. The eyepiece and back-display function as expected. I am surprised by how much I use the 'camera level' facility for off-tripod video.
Summary: I have only the A77 not the II updated one...a Canon man for decades, but found a good price on a lightly used A77. From another seller I got a used 18-135 Sony lens for a great price, and I can't put it down. I find it more intuitive in many ways to the Rebel i series (couldn't afford the bigger Canons) and I have been pleased as punch, to coin an old adage. Crazy sharp to work with.

Summary: This is really a good camera. I shoot video about 95% of the time. I use this camera and a a 7S along with the new Sony minicam (Little brother to the go Pro) and shoot a weekly live broadcast. Being able to change lenses changes a lot of things. This a 7S is unbeatable in lowlight shots. I can shoot live shots from the stage, then Pan to the audience lowlight and get the shot without turning up the house lights.
Excerpt: Hello ! I bought my first minolta 1978 (srt101) and after Minolta I had to change to Sony you know ! I had before Minolta Apo 600mm not a mount. It is and it was great lens. Now I have minoltas apo 200mm 2.8 af and apo 80-200mm f2.8.af. I thing that 200 and zoom are very alike at 200mm,even I have also 1.4 teleconverter (it is not working in zoom).I have Sony A77 body but I am going to buy Sony A99 to other body and will see if fulframe is so mutch better or not.
Summary: I actually love the camera and as a long time Sony purchaser have never had issues with them until now. The issue is with the service department. You see, I have an issue the included lens and hood. After about six months of use the lens hood would no longer stay locked on to the lens. I though, I'll just get a replacement lens hood. So I headed off to the Orlando, FL Sony store. They did not have any replacement hoods in stock so they grabbed one of a demo camera.

Summary: This camera has an incredible number of features for one at its price point, 24 mp resolution being one of them. I was surprised to find that a camera of this quality came with no battery. The product description should have mentioned that so that one can be ordered at the same time.
Summary: Great camera for large high speed shots. Works best in RAW format for capturing detail and color. My only concern is that the LCD screen goes black every so often. Also noticed this on my earlier A55 camera. Other than that the camera is fine. One thing that I noticed, the reviewers claim a battery life of around 400 shots before recharging. Recently I shot at a big trade show and had extra batteries that I didn't need to use.
Good but low light performance keeps you wanting more...

Summary: I have been using this camera for about a year now. Had the A65 and it definitely is a big step up from it. If you're torn between this and the A65, get this. I just wish Sony gave a little better high ISO performance. Honestly my Nikon D60 had better low light performance which is disappointing (I make this comment after using the Sigma f1.4 35mm prime with both camera bodies).
