Summary: I, like a number of NEX users, find that many Sony E-mount lenses are really not up to snuff, and buying E-mount CZ lenses that cost several times more than the NEX5 body doesn't seem like a cost effective solution.
Summary: I've had the NEX-5 for just under a year now. Since getting it last year, I've literally taken thousands of pictures. My favorite thing about this camera is that it grows with you, and encourages you to try new things.
Summary: I own 15 digital cameras, SLRs (2), P&S (13), and 2 Leicas M6s, and have been shooting since I was a child (I am now 69,) and all but one of them is sitting on the shelf while I happily shoot pictures with my NEX-5, Leica prime lenses (6), and a Hoodman magnifying loupe.
Summary: Sony Nex 5 is undoubtedly a very good one. So far, performance is quite satisfactory.Image sharpness & color tone including video are commendable. Its mode of operation is user friendly. Ofcourse, touchscreen would be preferred for faster operations.

I like that the screen tilts it makes it easy taking pictures or videos without having move with camera, the "panorama" picture taking feature is great too, pictures and videos are very clear.
