Great camera, above and below water

Doug Freeman, Amazon
1 March 2012
  • Summary: I have used this camera since 2008, both above water and in a housing to depths of 160 feet. I have gotten great pictures under a variety of conditions including a week of backpacking in Yellowstone Park. I find that the view through the viewfinder only helps with composition compared with using the back screen. After over 30,000 pictures, I can not complain.

Great camera

R. Moore, Amazon
3 December 2009
  • Summary: My present camera is an A100 Sony.I waited quite a while before I decided on this camera as an upgrade. I reviewed several Sony models on CNET Reviews and this cameras filled my needs and was extremely well priced. Newer models did not offer anything I needed to do the job for me. I am a semi advanced armature photographer.

Excellent, class leading DSLR, but not perfect (what is?)

George Nada, Amazon
19 June 2008
  • Summary: I have a Canon 5D and although it produces impressive pictures, I found too many of my pictures were blurred and I found myself not carrying my 5D around as it was a heavy camera (front heavy and hard to hold still IMHO) with the 24-105mm lens attached (hence the blurred shots). I started to look for a smaller and lighter camera - comfort was a major issue as was the size of the viewfinder and quality of the LCD as the 5D's LCD is frankly poor - very hard to tell if...

New Sony DSLR A-700 Some Small Fixes

Thomas Mcsunas, Amazon
14 November 2007
  • Summary: Sony has fixed a few small items with the A-700. Battery meter is now there to see power levels. The ISO Wheel is gone, in favor of a drop down menu. Screen is larger for review. Ergonomic grip is improved. 12.2 MP is better for close cropping. I find the camera a little easier to use than the A-100. More information to see on the screen prior to shooting.

Great Imaging

  • Excerpt: "With great expectations i had bought this wonderful product, and it did not fail my expectations. First i will tell you about the image quality which was excellent, exceptionally sharp and well exposed shots. The LCD is having a new CMOS sensor with an amazing LCD display with classic Minolta features like Eyestart AF sensor shift image stabilization and the alpha lens mount all in one compelling package. The color capturing capacity is excellent. ...
  • Pros: Clarity of Images, Good lens , Great shutter speed
