Minolta Lens

camper, Amazon
19 June 2012
  • Summary: I have an older Minolta zoom lens. It doesn't seem to work on the Sony A350. It zooms in; but, when the picture is focused to snap, it goes back to the regular view. Any ideas on what to do? The auto focus does not work with the Minolta lens at all---have to manually focus.

Solid camera.

Kirkjtc, CNET
23 January 2012
  • Summary: This is a nice camera for people who have a lot invested in a Minolta system. It will be a very good number 2 camera to the A77.
  • Pros: There is a good feel to this camera that has all controls in the right spot. Focus is quick and the metering is right on.
  • Cons: Not good for sports.

User Review

Pierre - France, LetsGoDigital
22 November 2011
  • Excerpt: I love the tilting display on the Sony Alpha 350. It's my first SLR camera with a Live View function, I works excellent for me. I do feel that the pictures could be a bit sharper, especially for a 14 Megapixel camera. But well, maybe I just need some extra time with my new Sony SLR to get to know all its in-and-outs.

Photo taking with the Sony 350

Ronal E. Henley "mature male", Amazon
27 January 2010
  • Summary: I bought this camera because I have a 1970 Minolta SRT 101 35mm camera with wide angle and telephoto lens. I understood that I could use my lens from Minolta with this Sony A350. I found out this would not work. I found that I like the camera and the lens I bought. I am still learning how to use it.

Vertical grip

Overstock
24 October 2009
  • Summary: In order to install this item on my Alpha 350,you must remove the door to the battery container. I believed that would be a natural to misplace the little door, well ,I read the instructions again and found that the grip has a special location to insert that door and always have with you if needed. The only drawback is the weight of 2 batteries and the rest to carry with you when travelling. That is why I also take a small Canon Powershot A 1000.

Excellent Camera

mommylove "dc", Amazon
13 October 2009
  • Summary: This is by far the best DSLR I got. I get the best pic quality and loads of them out of it. I do not like the fact that it is heavy which makes me wana leave it back some times but the picture quality makes it so worth it. I only with they had PentaPrisms ...and also if it could still be lighter in weight. Considering the number of features packed into it i know it ought to be atleast this heavy .

Great Step Up from the Minolta 5D

R. D. Johnson, Amazon
3 October 2009
  • Summary: I bought the alpha 350 to replace my Minolta 5D, and have been very happy with the features. The LCD live view is particularly helpful in capturing candid shots, but the image lags behind the position of the actual subject, sometimes causing you to miss the photo you want. I've found it most useful to frame the subject on the screen, but look at the subject live while depressing the shutter release.
