Excerpt: I bough it for around 2 months, definitely it is a secondhand item. I wanted to experienced DSLR a moment before spend huge money for a new DSLR (Before I' never used any DSLR before, just compact, from Canon A610, Sony Cybershot Digital Len and nearest is Canon SX30IS).
Excerpt: I've had this camera over 4 years now, and used it in a variety of situations. As a camera, it was a step down from my Dynax 7 - I gave up dual control wheels, sumptuous grip and that lovely big viewfinder. The advantages of digital more than made up for it, though.
Excerpt: Bought this camera back in Oct of '06. Great camera for landscape, portraits and slow moving objects. Focus is a bit on the slow side for action or kids. However the colors are excellent, IQ is excellent thought not with the 18-70 kit lens, do upgrade should you want to pick up a 2nd hand camera.
Excerpt: Have had this camera a little over a year. Bought the A100 just as the A200 was announced, as a backup for the A700, so got a good price. Controls not as simple as the Minolta 5D, A700 or A200, but it does retain the DoF preview and MLU over the A200.
Excerpt: As a former Minolta manual and AF film camera user this camera is a homecoming. Easy and familiar. I shoot RAW so I was pleased with the large files. No problems with the Minolta AF lenses as well as Sigma that I own. Highly recommend! Problems: Slow focus in low light.
Excerpt: overall it is a great camera, I like the big body and the pictures are really nice. typical sony colors but this can be modified with the wheel selector very easelly. zoom lenses kit 18-70 quite good.
Excerpt: This is my first DSLR camera. I switched from a compact Canon A80 which was also a great camera and I was making nice photos with it, but I wanted some more space to play around with settings, so I choose this one.
Excerpt: I own a Minolta Dynax 300Si SLR and have only had exellent results with this camera. I decided to go digital and started looking for a decent DSLR. I saw an ad in the local press advertising the Alpha 100 with the 18 - 70 kit lense as well as a 75 - 300 lense, 2Gb Pro Duo mem card and Sony HVL -...
Summary: I bought this camera because I already had great lenses from an older broken camera body that I just couldn't throw away. I like the camera because it's easy to use with the auto focus, but I am looking forward to learning about and using all of this camera's features.
Pros: Auto focus is a bonus, Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Strong Construction
