Sony Alpha A100 DSLR

Vanilla Kisses, ReviewStream
25 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought the Sony Alpha A100 DSLR in August of this year. At this time, I have taken just over 5000 photographs with it, using about 10 different lenses. Each and every Minolta Lens I have, works beautifully with this camera. All settings are easy to use, and understand.

  • Excerpt: The lack of a live LCD screen means that altering manual controls and the effects cannot be judged until the picture is stored. This is a very big minus of the Alpha 100 in strange exposure settings.

Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 review by dupmeister

dupmeister, slrgear.com
25 September 2008
  • Summary: This is a good little camera, for the money it offers a heck of a lot of bang for the buck. it is very solid in build and very light weight. it is small compared to its big brother (A700) so they had to pack all the controls into as little space as possible, this means alot of toggling through controls to get what you need. it takes getting used to but otherwise the camera functions well and gave me no problems during 1 year of very hard use.
  • Pros: Good starter Camera
  • Cons: image noise issues after ISO400

  • Summary: I bought this camera because I already had great lenses from an older broken camera body that I just couldn't throw away. I like the camera because it's easy to use with the auto focus, but I am looking forward to learning about and using all of this camera's features.
  • Pros: Auto focus is a bonus, Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Not great in low light, Shaky Operation

Great Camera!

Florida Girl, PhotoAlley.com
4 December 2007
  • Summary: Great Camera. Only fault is it takes to many steps to access some controls to adjust camera. This takes too much time. The covered LCD screen is nice as you use it when you want but it is not exposed nor does it take up room. Flash needs a simple on off button as it flashes when not necessary and it takes too long to adjust.
  • Pros: Bright LCD, Quiet, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Too Many Steps

  • Summary: So far, I love this camera. I'm not a professional but I almost feel like one with this piece of equipment. I love all the action shots I was not able to get before with my cybershot( slow processing) and how brighter my pictures are indoors. I take hundreds if not thousands of pictures of my baby and I'm so pleased at how my pictures have improved 100%.
  • Pros: Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Small Lag Time, Strong Construction
