Bought as point-and-shoot, not that simple, blurry and grainy in all but perfect conditions
14 February 2013
Summary: Bought it as a point-and-shoot camera, but without significant adjustments, it was very blurry and grainy. It still takes terrible photos at night or with any of the settings but ISO. Bought it to replace an old basic point-and-shoot, but the old one is better all around. In fact, if we hadn't brought the other camera with us too on our last trip, nothing but daytime pictures would have been worth keeping at all!
Excerpt: this camera definitly disapointed me i LOVE cameras they make the worl go round for me! I would not be writing this review if a hadnt bought a SECOND camera after the first one went bad and it still gave me the same priblem definitly disapointed with sony of all! I never dropped id always even had it in a cute case for it thats how much i had taken care of it.
Excerpt: I've had this camera for several months and have been thrilled with the performance. The settings are extremely intuitive and it is pretty fast from power on to taking a picture. I have been using it to take pictures of my kids and it's pretty good at cathing them while in motion. I'm sure an SLR is better but I have been happy with it's performance. The face detection is also a great feature and allows to have multiple people be in focus regardless of their...
Excerpt: i was really disappointed in this product. Sony is always so reliable. The camera is small and easy, but not worth it. The pics turn out fuzzy and dark. I've tried every setting the thing has. Low light... FORGET IT. The slightest movement comes out blurry. I just wasn't happy. Not at all woth the money. I'll go with Cannon next time.
Excerpt: I have this canera and I love it. It has a great picture quality. The shots are fast and clear even the focus moves. I take it anywhere I go and shoot millions of pictures with it. This is something I want to keep for a while.

Excerpt: We bought the Sony - Cybershot W90 Digital Camera for $130.00 at Walmart and it has proved itself to be mediocre. It holds up to 290 pictures. The main irritating thing about it is it has a delay when you press the button to take a photo and when you are taking a photo of an animal or child, they move a lot and the photos come out blurred or you missed the split second adorable pose you pulled the camera out to photograph in the first place. The zoom on it is not...
Excerpt: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 seemed too good to be true when it was announced in February 2009. For less than $250 you get a wide-angle lens with a 5x zoom, 12-megapixel resolution, some of Sony's advanced automatic shooting options, HD video capture, and a 3-inch LCD all packed into a nice-looking body roughly the size of a deck of cards. Sounds pretty great, right? There had to be something wrong.
