Summary: Static images is the thing you want most from a camera of this kind. w690 gives you *excellent* still images when light condition is above average. Either outdoor or indoor the result is guaranteed when "lights are on". In case the build in flash is used the results also is trouble free. Problems involving stil images begin when light conditions are under than mediocre *and* flash cannot be used... In that case iso400 and beyond does not satisfy me at all.
Pros: excellent dimensions&weight, zooming capabilities, HD recording, static pics in good light conditions
Cons: iso400++ images in low light conditions not satisfying, sometimes scene recognition is slow and also the time between shots is big if flash is used
Summary: Advantages First off let me just say I love this camera! Its slim not too heavy (139g) and packs a mean punch when it comes it competing with other models. The picture quality is amazing and it detects peoples faces which is fantastic for lining the shot up. Even when in cyber shot mode which allows you to take loads of photos in one go; the photo is stunning. I tested this at a recent rugby match and the end result was fantastic.
Pros: Picture Quality, Cyber shot, Face detection, Video
Cons: Small writting on some of displays on screen, no wifi
