Summary: I received this camera and was able to get it to work. I was able to get around the fact that the button did not work to push down to take a picture by using a remote to take the pictures. There are some small problems, but I am satisfied with my purchase and believe that the Cyber-shot V3 is still a good camera choice to purchase. Thank you.
Summary: This camera is typical of Nikon's quality digital camera product. The body is well designed, not plasticky but solid metal with the feel of quality. It has a great lens and also can use a external flash making it more usefull in various picture taking events.
Summary: I love the Sony DSC-V3. I have had the Sony DSC-V1,DSC-F717 and DSC-F828, they are also great cameras but i like the V3 better since it does not have any barrel distortion or chromatic aberrations. Thanks to the Carl Zeiss lens! However, the V3 tends to choose F8 when in Auto or program mode. I only use it in Manual mode since it will produce stunning images with very natural and life-like colors comparable to the colors produced by the Leica Digilux 2.
Summary: Want a camera that acts like a 10MP larger sensor camera...Has features that are unique like Laser night focus and IR night photos... Has real 14 bit RAW and a lens that holds shadow and highlights making it more like 16 bit...Full manual settings and super bright viewfinder... stable and easy, well thought out layout... just nice quality throughout ( except for shutter release button popping off ) Camera is going to have a real cult following 5 years from now...
Summary: My wife had owned this very same model for years with no problems. So, when it did present problems, we decided not to get it fixed, (we wore it out) but, replaced. I knew that ebay would be the place to look. The seller that I won this camera from was great, very friendly & helpful. We received exactly what he said we would. The camera is actually newer than the one we had, cosmetic and mechanic order? GREAT.
Summary: This IS and Excellent camera, if you need what it can provide. It won't give you a big zoom range, but what zoom it has can help you stay a comfortable distance from portrait subjects. (4X zoom) It give you the option of using Sony's Memory Stick, or Compact Flash style memory. You can use the small flip up flash, or attach one on the top mounted hotshoe. The body is made of magnesium alloy and feels very strong when you handle it.
Summary: I've had this beauty since December 2005 and amidst all the hoopla over newer and better(?) cameras, I still say that this Sony V3 is just about one of the best I've ever used and I've gone through a wide range from the (also classic) Minolta SRT-101 to the Nikon F3 to the new DSLRs like the Nikon D60.
Summary: Can there truly be a classic among digital cameras? Technology moves so quickly that one year, let alone five, is an eternity. And yet, try to take a Fuji F30 or F31 away from its owner and you'll get the Charlton Heston NRA line (from my cold dead hands)! In time, I may have the same feelings for the Sony DSCV-3. I was lucky to get one of these (thanks Stefan B!) in as close to new condition as you can imagine a 5 year old camera to be.
