Excerpt: The Sony DSC-TX20 is a surprising workhorse of a point and shoot that can be appreciated by both professional photographers and inexperienced users. This camera has a go-anywhere-at-anytime mentality that has continuously impressed me over the last two months I've been touring Europe.
Summary: The camera is great. It takes great pictures and works under water. I had the best time taking pictures in the pool and water rides. The only thing that I would complain about is the battery life. I have to carry 2 extra batteries to last a whole day of taking pictures and videos. Also switching modes is a little tricky. I usually can get around camera relatively easy but not with this one. I leave it on auto and it takes great shots.
Summary: The reason I bought this camera is because it is waterproof. My wife and I had so much fun during the vacation at the beach, taking pictures underwater and while surfing. I'd say this camera is a MUST if you're going to take pictures at the beach/swimming pool. The only downside I can think of: The camera kept getting vapors/steam near the lens.
Summary: well it did what i needed it to, that is take pics at the beach and some under water shots while snorkeling. however, thank goodness i bought two! one was a bit faulty.... camera specs says water resistant down to 16 feet... well i was only in about 4 feet of water when i got a little shock. water got in and damaged the battery. the second one however worked like a charm and i was pleased with the images!
Summary: I was looking for a small point and shoot camera to take with me on hikes and then to use for quick shots. I have a DSLR that I prefer to shoot with, but is sometimes too bulky, or it's too risky to use in the area. My main test so far was to take it with me to FL to run a half-marathon. I kept it in my hand the whole time and it took great shots all the way from pre-dawn to the finish of the race. The camera is tiny witch took some getting used to.
Summary: I've used this camera both in and out of the water on a Caribbean snorkeling excursion with great results. It exceeded my expectation for such a small and seemingly simple camera. The touchscreen is outstanding, easy to operate. My four star rating comes from performance in low light at my niece's wedding reception. I took this camera instead of my NEX-6 because I could slip it into my clutch purse. The photos I took were dark and blocky because I hate using flash.
Summary: I love this little camera. I had an older version then I bought this one, my only complaint is that the lock on the battery/card cover broke, the camera had less than one year of use, Sony replaced the camera under the extended plan that I bought with the camera. In regards to the pictures I love the colors and the panoramic view is amazing. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the cover problem.
Summary: I bought this camera for my work as I work outside in all kinds of weather and use a camera for my work. I wanted something that was waterproof for those days when its raining, I don't have to worry that my camera is going to get ruined. I like this camera, but... what I don't like about it is the touch screen. I often have to use the camera one handed and boy touch anywhere on the back of this camera and it has a mind of its own.
