Summary: I was originally going to give this camera four stars. However, after I used it for a couple of months, and, got used to its features, I decided that five stars was more appropriate. My first "point and shoot" is an ancient SONY DSC T33 (5.1 Mp) Sony Cybershot DSCT33 5.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Includes Docking Station) I bought about five years ago. It is a little beat up, but, it has worked really well, and, continues to work really well. I love it.
NOT WATERPROOF!!!, but takes great pictures. Allow me to explain.

Summary: I'll be brief. My wife and I needed a waterproof camera for our cruise. We used this one under about one foot of water, and after taking it out of the water the camera started to glitch and, minutes later, died. The charge port was where the water entered the camera. We sent it off to Sony for repair, they did so, and sent it back.
Best point and shoot I've ever owned--and I've owned a lot!

Summary: I bought this camera on a whim when Amazon had a Black Friday sale in 2011 and I haven't regretted it yet. It is simply the most capable, versatile, durable, portable, and sexiest camera I've ever owned. Here are some notable features about this camera (note: there are many other features, but I'm only going to list the outstanding ones): +Low-light performance is AMAZING in High-ISO and twilight modes. I can't tell you how useful this can be.
Summary: I was reasonably happy with this camera even though the image quality was poor and the touchscreen did not work as it should, the camera was purchased for its waterproof capabilities and it served its purpose for a while. It was not heavily used when the 1 year warranty expired and a week later a piece broke off of the lower right corner of the body. It was an unprovoked and not neglected. I did some research and this happens frequently with this camera.
Summary: I purchased this item when I saw it go on sale for black Friday. I LOVE this camera! The pictures are clear and there are many options (easy, auto, superior, panorama). I usually leave it on superior and that takes care of pics inside and outside. What I love most about this camera (besides the clear pictures) is that it is waterproof! I am not afraid to have it around my little nephews (ages 4-12).
Summary: This camera, met and exceeded my expectations. The pictures it takes are clear, as long as the camera is given a second to focus. Shutter speed is fast, not quite dslr speed, but close. Video is amazing, and sound recording is very detailed and clear. Only audio problem occurs in heavy wind, as it picks up every howl and blow. Water shots are amazing, and again video is stunning with sound while diving gives you the full experience.
For underwater and great panoramas, but very slow.

Summary: I bought this camera for the only purpose of having a camera that I could take with me all day long and use it everywhere, even at the beach or underwater and create amazing panoramic shoots. I'm an amateur photographer and I use my Nikon D90 camera for taking pictures, most of them in manual mode.
Summary: Disappointingly, my TX-10 also leaked on its first trial in the Caribbean and corroded the USB port, and its cable plug. As an avid TX-5 user with its touch screen (which works underwater; the TX-10 screen does not)and its single door (versus two on the TX-10), I had great hopes for this newer model, but Sony seems to have gone backward with this one. I hope their next model will include the good features of the TX-5, including one less door that might leak.
