Summary: First off I would like to say, I have owned the Sony DSC-TX5 and this DSC-TX10 camera is the big brother. Just like the TX5 with more features and equal quality. For all the negative reviews regarding water getting in; I have not had this issue.

Summary: We needed a camera that could handle our upcoming honeymoon trip to Costa Rica and this camera delivered with flying colors. We do a lot of outdoors activities - hiking, kayaking, etc., so needed something small, durable & waterproof, but I didn't want to give up picture quality.
Excerpt: I use this camera for 3 months now. On trips, underwater and everyday also. Before this i used a Canon Ixus 220 HS. I bought this camera because of the underwater and video functions. I knew that i will have to make compromises, but maybe too many.
Summary: I researched this camera and the comparable sony that is not for underwater, decided that extra feature would be worth the extra $100 and am SO GLAD we did it! I was nervous we might be one of those rare negative reviews where the water broke the camera immedietly but are happy to say we used it all...
Summary: I received my camera six months ago. I loved the camera and took excellent care of it. I never opened the doors while the camera was exposed to water and always dried it off and checked for sand in the seals. I never took it deeper than six feet. I was in Hawaii last month and the camera quit.
Summary: I took this camera to AUSTRALIA and the camera broke after 4 days into my trip! It is NOT waterproof! NOT WATERPROOF! I had a camera professional look at the camera and water got into the camera through a seal. Sony explained it is not covered under warranty.
Summary: After researching waterproof cameras, I came upon this little gem of a camera. Wow! The clarity is superb, video quality is awesome and I would highly recommend for anyone looking to purchase a waterproof camera. The start up time that most people complain about is no big deal.
Summary: I purchased this camera in April of 2011 shortly after it was released by Sony. I did not really get to use it until more than a month later on a trip where it was mainly used as an underwater camera. I closely followed all of the manufacturers instructions on keeping it clean and watertight.
Sony proprietary USB cable meant no vacation photos..

Summary: The camera takes fantastic photos and video for its size. Easy and fun to use and you simply can't beat the shutter lag (IE: it takes fast photos). Haven't tested the waterproofness yet, but from other reviews sounds like you don't want to push your luck.
