Summary: This camera is only a good value if you plan to take advantage of its water-resistant capabilities, that is, if you expect to take photos/videos in the rain, snow or rough conditions. If you don't, then there are better alternatives for less money. If you plan to go diving then you should buy a special underwater case for it if you can find it. There aren't any available right now but this may change in the future.
Pros: Good Image Quality, Good in Low Light, Large Clear LCD, Nice Body Color, Small / Compact
Cons: Lag / Shutter Delay, No Viewfinder, Poor Image Stabilization, Short Battery Life
Excerpt: "...proof is competitive, but the Sony Cybershot DMC-TX10 appears more like a premium digital compact camera which also benefits from these attributes. Cameras with a 16 megapixel sensor and 4x optical zoom are mostly cheaper than the TX-10, so if you're not particularly bothered about purchasing a "tough" camera, there is likely to be better value for money to be found elsewhere. Advantages · Very stylish · Sweep Panoramas ...
Pros: Sweep Panoramas, Full HD Videos, Good noise performance, Waterproof/Freezeproof/shockproof .
Cons: Only 4x Optical zoom, Very pricey for a "Tough" camera
Summary: Bought the TX 10 not long ago and took great pictures. Then I noticed three cracks on the outer shell on each corner of the screen and the battery lid. I can confirm that I have never dropped the camera and I have always stored it in a safe place. Luckily was still under warranty and got it repaired. After I got the camera I used it only on 2 occasions and stored it away. Until recently when I took it out I again noticed 2 cracks exactly at the same spots as before.
Summary: overall pretty good picture quality but the sky tends to be overexposed and noise reduction can make detail a little soft up closer. This is a back up camera for my DSLR so the small size and lens cover was what made me move to the sony after my Lumix died. if you want a more rugged camera with geotagging go the lumix, if you want a smaller camrea that will easily slide into you pocket go the sony. The tx-10 has the edge on my FT-2 as far as picture quality goes.
Pros: Fast burst speed, small size, close ,macro
Cons: not as rugged as my previous panasonic, touch screen can be unresponsive at times
Summary: The wife gave me the camera for Chirstmas for our upcoming trip to Jamaica. Worked great. Took good pictures and video. Then comes Jamaica. Great pictures till we went snorkling, 1 picture is all the camera lasted for in the water. Then it DIED!
"A real let down, clearly no quality control during production"

Summary: I purchased the Sony TX 10 after having the previous cyber shot without water proof and rugged features. However off to a shaky start the paint peeled off when used under water, after repairs occurred for a second time, the third time the camera overheated itself and the battery got so hot it almost started a fire in my bag. The camera was replaced and for the fourth time the camera simply stopped working and would not power.
Pros: Carl Zeis lens captures a crisp vivid image
Cons: Completely unreliable, can't withstand the outdoors
