Its interesting attractions are it takes great photos with both its 8-megapixel imager and its 5x "folded" internal optical zoom lens. The Sony DSC-T100, a replacement for the DSC-T50, allows its users to have 31MB of internal memory. Multiple video modes are also available. Not to forget it nine-point autofocus. Users are able to ‘play’ around with its settings in the program mode like the white balance, ISO sensitivity, Metering, focus, AF-assist lamp and many more. Its 35 to 175mm equivalent lens incorporates Sony’s Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization to minimize blur that is caused by camera shake at slow shutter speeds. This might come in use for photographers who constantly move when they click the shot. The 35 to 175mm lens will help in the stabilization of the shots taken. The photos taken with the Sony DSC-T100 are crisp while the colors are vivid. Nice combination indeed. A certain reviewer quoted that the menu is vast, well set out and attractive to look at but splitting it down into two parts and labeling one as Home is unnecessary. It is also mentioned that the Sony DSC T100 is a capable camera with many features as well as a good looking sleek body with no external parts to snap off. Some users feel that its buttons are a little small and it even makes it hard not to have an optical viewfinder. Credit goes to the face detection capabilities and the direct HDTV output are what make this camera different from the others. Since, the Sony DSC-T100 fits easily in handbags and pockets; it has apparently been a favorite for both men and women.
See lessI have to admit that I've been a bit jaded when it comes to Sony's Cyber-shot T-series of cameras. Each iteration was basically the same thing: higher resolution, maybe a larger LCD, and maybe a choice of body colors. So, when word came of the Cyber-shot DSC-T100 ($400), I thought "oh good, another one". Read more
The sexy Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 has automatic exposure modes and lots of cool features crammed into an ultra-slim metal body. The 0.88-inch thick digital camera has a sliding lens cover on its front and an enormous 3-inch LCD on its back. Optical image stabilization on the tiny 5x zoom lens, the ability to output to high definition televisions, and technology that recognizes and focuses on faces make for a winning combination. If the attractive compact design doesn't win you over at once, the large, gorgeous LCD will. And you won't regret it because the T100 is a very capable camera, making great shots easy, without too much contrast or saturation. Thanks to the Alpha's Bionz image processor and Super SteadyShot, there isn't much this slim digicam with its 5x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens can't do. Detail does fall apart at high ISO, but that appears to be a tradeoff Sony makes to salvage... Read more
The Sony Cyber-shot is sleek, stylish, and features 8.1 in a compact design with a choice of body colors. What makes this camera stand out from the crowd of digital cameras that meet the same criteria is its face detection capabilities and its direct HDTV output for showing off your great pictures. I bought this Sony Cybershot DSC-100 camera several months ago and so far I really like it. I debated on spending so much money on such a small camera, I did find several other brands that were a bit cheaper but decided to go with the Cybershot. I have always liked Sony products and this camera lives up to the great Sony name and standard. The pictures come out very crisp and clear and the screen displays a clear view of whatever you may be trying to capture. The... Read more
I took 2 cameras to Arizona...only the dsc-t20/t100 worked when I got home - the p2 nikon's camera lens jammed when it dropped from a 8" tripod onto a sandy canyon floor. The trip involved hiking in ~ 4 diff. canyons during the day. Nikon (zipped case), the sony (zipped flash drive case). I spent *alot* of time researching cameras to find a camera with a fixed lens with a fast shutter and pro-like capabilities...this was it... The nikon's s50/c coolpix was *slow*, 7.2mp,... Read more
I got this camera when they first came out, and have used it fairly heavily over the last few years. Unlike other recent reviewers I have not had any problems with the camera (so far, knock wood) and will strongly consider a similar model from Sony when this one does finally bite the dust. The Sony "T" series are a bit more expensive than the "W" and similar versions, but the extra compactness and pocketability is worth it in my opinion. It's been a great camera here.
