The Best Inexpensive Point and Shoot Digital Camera Of Its Day
24 March 2013
Summary: This is about a 10 year old model of the Sony Cyber-shot. I have owned and used one extensively since 2002. For the ease of use, reliability and quality, I don't think any of its period peers could match it. In macro mode, the detail and sharpness are hard to beat at this price point. I use it mostly for casual shooting of industrial installations and equipment in addition to photos for ads to post on Ebay!!!
Summary: Only 3.2 megapixels but who cares. The camera takes excellent snapshots. For the low price you pay for one on ebay, it's a bargin and it runs on just two inexpensive AA Batteries. It also has an aoptical viewfinder which seems to have disappeared on today's cameras. I say Buy one.
Excerpt: The Sony Cybershot P72 Digital Camera is a decent camera with a decent megapixel of 3.2. Its alright, does the job quickly, and takes nice photos for a 3.2 mega pixel camera. The display screen however, is quite small and has a "digital" like screen. It also has a manual look that you find in dispensible cameras. The camera seems to use up it's battery pretty quickly, and doesn't come with rechargeable batteries, it fights conventional AA batteries.
Excerpt: When we first converted to digital camera, I was skeptical, and clung to the idea of film. What would we do with all of these digital files? Would anyone ever see them? Would I learn to use the damn thing or would it be even harder than my last cellphone was? Well, I fell in love. The Cybershot 3.2 is sweet, light, easy to use. The newer models are even smaller with betterMegapixel ratings. I could look at the controls and I knew what to do - it was similar enough...
Excerpt: I had another Sony Cybershot camera which i lost. When i bought this one online i thought it was buying the same one, but it ended up being a slightly different one. I'm a fan of the Cybershot line. They seem to take pretty good pictures, while being a simple camera to use. They're also relatively inexpensive, especially when purchased used. My main problem with this camera was the lack features compared to my other one. It also seems to go through batteries much...
Summary: I love this camera. I had one previously but lost it in my house fire in May. One of the things I missed most from the fire was this camera. So I hopped on e-bay and found another exactly like mine but it also had some extras to go with it. It takes great pictures and is easy to use. My kind of camera. Thanks E-bay!
Summary: I love the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72 3.2 Megapixel I got through an auction. It has been used almost every day since I got it and I have not had a single problem with it. It is easy to operate, very user friendly (and this is from someone who is NOT technologically inclined at all!). I found the camera's sleek design impressive. I highly recommend this camera to anyone looking to buy.
Summary: I have used mine for about 6 years now. I just bought a second used one to replace a lens focus gear damaged in a drop. The used one works well as is so I now have a good one and a usable one. I paid about USD $300 for my first one when new. I paid USD $6 (shipped) for this used camera (only minimal testing). You can probably get a used one for $10 to $20. If used cameras work this well, I don't need to ever buy a new one again.
