Summary: i own unfortunately one i paid over 200 dollars for it to circuit city,stop working after a year,i did not abuse or over use the camera,what a waist,when i studied about it i found out every body else selling it on ebay sell it for repair or parts,i tell you it is not repairable or it is not worth it to repair it,it should not even should the market with this defectiveness,aware of sony cameras every body knows is sucks!
Summary: My camera has also died. Yes, a black screen within the two year time frame... I shall be avoiding Sony products from now on! As an aside, if vendors are going to make "disposable" products (in this case it is cheaper to buy a new camera than repair this one), then I will only be paying "disposable" prices in future.
Summary: My camera's LCD went black after 18 months like many others and I called Sony and of course they wanted to charge me $100+ to repair it. Because I am missing out on special moments witth my children as a result of the camera, I purchased a different brand with more MPs. I use to think of Sony as high end as well, but not anymore. I have vowed to never purchase another Sony product again, there name is like Emerson to me now.

Summary: I have had the same problem with the black screen as many others had. I loved the product until the black screen problem. Sony is no help what so ever and just recommend service for $130. I would never buy another sony camera.
Summary: One week short of a year and the camera broke. Now, no image appears on the display in any of the 3 picture taking modes and no images are captured. I called the Sony phone number provided and got into a voice menu loop and hung up. When I tried again later it gave me the real person option. The rep was professional, but unsympathetic. For an estimated $147.34 in labor charges they would fix it.
Summary: acquistate contemporaneamente 2 macchine, alla scadenza della garanzia risultano entrambe guaste, nello stesso periodo. inviate al centro assistenza, riparate gratuitamente in quanto era stato montato un pezzo difettoso. durante il periodo della nuova garanzia di tre mesi, in entrambe contemporaneamente si ripete lo stesso difetto. rimandate al centro assistenza una delle due riparazione gratuita, per l'altra mi è stata richiesta 95 euro!!!!
Summary: Adquirí la cámara a fines del 2003, y su calidad fue excelente. Pero desde hace un año la cámara comenzó manifestar problemas. Los menú de la cámara funcionan correctamente , pero no capta imágenes. Su pantalla está oscura y se ven imágenes parciales borrosas y negras, solo si se enfoca a una luz intensa. En un primer momento esta falla se producia a intervalos regulares, pero de fue haciendo más frecuente, hasta dejar de mostrar imagen.
