Summary: This camera works ok but is designed poorly. They put the pop-up flash on the top exactly where one would automatically place their left index finger to steady the camera. Consequently, this camera is very awkward to hold. Would never have purchased it if I had known this in advance.
Summary: This Sony pocket point and shoot camera is small enough to fit into any pocket, but packs a tremendous amount of features and modes. The quality of the images are outstanding, and it goes from wide angle to 16X optical zoom. It can be used full automatically, either using Superior Auto or Intelligent Auto. You can also select from a multitude of scene modes. Also note that it has a panoramic as well as a 3D mode.
Summary: I ordered this camera a year ago and it's taken me a while to get use to it. My photos have almost always been sharp and the colors are deep and rich. I recommend this camera for its size (I can fit it into my side pocket) and sharp photos. I still have to use the on-line directions sometimes, too many features to remember. Only con with the camera is that it doesn't have a quick-easy manual and the flash is located in a bad spot (it's right where I hold the camera).
Summary: I originally purchased this camera for my wife, but she rarely used it, opting instead for her Iphone (which does quire well, considering it's a phone). I already own a Sony DSLR and half-a-dozen lenses, a Panasonic ZS8, and a Canon SX40HS, so I am not hurting for a camera to shoot with, and they all have their individual purposes.
Summary: This camera is in my opinion a combination of my 2 favorite cameras from SONY’S HX line. & they are the HX7V and the HX9V. I own the silver color HX10V. with this model Sony switches to a universal charge port a micro-usb. This is great camera it is well balanced spec wise. The #1 thing you should stay away from is a small sensor with lots of mega pixels, which just causes NOISE. To put it simply I put this 2011 camera against Sony’s own 2012 HX20V/HX30V & 2013 HX50V.
Excerpt: This is a Great Camera! I've been using it for over a year now mostly for filming bands playing live. You can see the camera at work here at my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/pokeadoubledecker/videos some of my videos are done using a Kodak Playsport but you should be able to tell the difference as the Sony has a better resolution and clearer zoom function.
