Summary: This camera was purchases by me for my mother to use at a reunion. The combination of low light capability, Sweep Panorama function, and video function were the primary 'specs' desired. I decided that it shouldn't just be any old camera as I'd use it myself eventually.
Pros: - Low light images are excellent., - Sweep Panorama is not just a gimmick!, - Face and Smile detection work well., - Nice build with minor exception including access door., - Good LCD., - Good AF., - Burst Mode.
Cons: Size I'm putting in the weakness column as this is another almost too small camera. The controls border on being difficult as they are all very close together., - For what should be optimum lighting for a camera, adjustments are needed to get optimum performance, and it seems to change., - A coup...
Summary: I won't pretend to know the lingo's and spec's that professional (or even amateur) photographers use, all I know is that this camera works great for my everyday needs. I've had this camera for 2 weeks now and I've shot a weekend cabin trip, my dog at the park and some potential properties for my...
Summary: A nice advance of over previously-owned T-100, T-300. Low-light performance is, all things considered, very impressive. Panorama and burst features are very useful. Camera is smaller than it appears, but still easy to handle.
Summary: I like this camera. I would buy it again. I would ask SONY to change a few things: 1) The power and shutter buttons are too flush and difficult to feel in the dark. I would give then some texture as they are unusable with gloves.
Summary: If I could, I would probably give the WX1 4 1/2 stars. It is excellent in low light. I took it to New England's largest fair. The night photos and videos of the amusement rides and parade came out very clear.
Summary: It was probably a month or two ago that I saw some press releases on a new point and shoot Sony had coming out, the WX1, which intrigued me. Like a lot of photo enthusiasts, while a DSLR is the weapon of choice, the elusive holy grail seems to be a small point and shoot camera that can slip in your...
Summary: I purchased this camera for the Panorama mode, and low light shooting. It should not be thought of as replacement for a large digital SLR like my $1,800 Nikon without lenses. No, the quality of the photos is not in the league of the larger camera.
Summary: I've owned Sony's DSC-P72, W5, W7 and W300. I bought this camera mainly for the 720P HD recording. As far as the recording goes, the HD videos are great! The colors and lighting in the videos are excellent. I would have liked stereo sound recording but is that even possible on such a small camera?
Very good pocket camera. But Exmor R isn't as good as promised.

Summary: This is a very very nice pocket camera. It's far smaller than the photos suggest. This replaces my Samsung NV24HD. I bought this camera because of its 24mm super wide lens and the promise of Sony's new Exmor R chip. But it's a mixed bag.
