Review: Sony CyberShot DSC-TX1

Wired
5 October 2009
  • Excerpt: If you’ve ever tried to sneak a picture of a celebrity busting a move in a dark club, you know the disappointment that comes with blurry, grainy photos. Well, stalkerazzi, rejoice!
  • Pros: Thin and light with an impressive touchscreen and amazing low-light capabilities. A fast 10-fps shutter is perfect for sports, kids, animals and the occasional fleeing celebrity. Cool new features like Hand-Held Twilight and Sweep Panorama modes work like a charm.
  • Cons: You pay big bucks for such a small cam: Price tag skates close to 4 Benjamins. Confusing menus can make it frustrating to change settings on the fly.

A thin and quick camera with an advanced image processor

Good Gear Guide.au
28 July 2010
  • Summary: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 is a super-slim camera that packs in a competent image sensor and takes reasonable photos. It's not particularly fast and its high ISO settings introduce significant noise, but it might be a decent camera to take out for a night on the town.
  • Pros: Good low light shooting with new image sensor
  • Cons: Bad image noise at high ISO settings

  • Conclusion: A stylish compact that puts in a pretty good performance. It lacks a little in the focal range department and there are no manual controls, but the TX1 offers some great features and sturdy build quality.

  • Summary: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 joins the small but growing list of compact cameras that are concentrating on image quality rather than simply increasing the megapixel count, and largely delivers on its promise.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX1: superschlanke Kamera für Nachteulen

CNET
27 November 2009
  • Pros: edles, ultrakompaktes Design, viele innovative Funktionen, hohe Geschwindigkeit
  • Cons: durchschnittliche Bildqualität, unzuverlässiger Weißabgleich

Cyber-shot DSC-TX1
