Summary: This item is still under warranty and I sent it in for repair and was told it would be repaired under warranty. I called today when I read on there site I needed to approve the repair fees and was told it was damaged. It was not damaged. I will never own another Sony product of any kind. I will also be calling consumer reports and anyone else I can think of. I guess I learned, spend the extra money and buy the better brand name.
Seller sent 3 different cases, none of which fit the camera

Summary: I bought this item from this seller because of the acessory pack. I already tested out the camera at my local camera store, but chose to buy from this seller because it was such a better deal for all the things that came with it. What I recieved is a large camcorder case (like from the 90's...for an actual camcorder), a small camera case that fits a camera half the size of the one I ordered, and an outdated smart phone case which incidentally doesn't even fit my iphone.
Camera great, flash didn't work, protection screen not good quality

Summary: I got this camera for my wife for san valentine and it was a sad surprise when she found out that the flash wasn't working at all. We tried to call the costume service and there was no way to make the flash work. It's 7 march and i'm still waiting for another new camera for her san valentine gift. We got complete refund from amazon and that was good so we could order another new one from another seller.
Summary: I finally pulled this out to use the battery as a back up three months after purchase. They sent the wrong battery. My camera, one of the ones indicated, takes an NP-BX1 battery. They sent the correct NP-BX1 charger, but provided an NP-BK1 battery.
Summary: Very slow aperture at telephoto end. Taken away some features such as viewfinder sensor, DC current input . Only 2 megapixel boosted, slower zooming speed as compared to Hx200v, same 1/3 sensor, image quality and sharpness is lost at telephoto end, same old features. I was expecting more but this time it is worst than ever.

Excerpt: its fun to play with the 1200mm zoom... n that's it!!! $500, is a complete waste. 20m.p. prints 14x19". n as the zoom in or out... the motor roars...feels good in hand... but the front element of the ziss glass makes a loose sound sometimes... i m sending it back... thats it sony. i rather b with nikon or canon... but never with sony.
Pros: Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD
Cons: Poor Image Quality, Poor in Low Light, Short Battery Life
Summary: Admittedly I have previously used a Nikon D90 which is known for its crisp photos. The D90 is a 12 MP camera and the DSC HX300 is a 20 MP camera. When you read that a camera is about the sensor and not the pixels, believe it. The Sony DSC HX300 may have almost twice the pixel count, but the pictures are not even half as good, as sharp or with as much detail. The auto focus does function, but very very slowly.
Flash broke x2, shocking customer service from Sony.

Summary: I was originally very happy with this camera, then the flash stopped working not long after purchase. I was disappointed, believing it to be a random fault I returned it and was given a full refund. I then purchased this same camera from a high street store as otherwise I thought the camera was great. I needed it for that weekend again the flash broke. Both company's I bought from have been brilliant. However Sony have been a disgrace!
