Summary: I really like this camera - this is why I bought another one after the first one showed that it was NOT waterproof... The bad thing about this was, that after one year I did not get a new one. Warranty had expired. Expensive deal.
Summary: I like the slide-on slide-off nature of this camera. Sliding down the metal part in the front turns it on and snapping it back up, off. makes it easy to use the camera quickly. As with most digital cameras, outdoor and well lit shots turn out great. In low light situations, problems still persist. A lot of times pictures will look nice on the LCD screen but are actually very blurry when viewed on a PC.
Summary: I bought this camera almost 2 years ago and have enjoyed the panornama, underwater and the size, but now the touch screen went out and Sony wants around $150.00 to fix it. Tough call for a 2 year old camera. Also this camera is no good for shooting pictures towards the sunlight. It gives a hazy look around the edges. I've had 100s of pics ruined because of this.
Summary: I bought this camera just before I went on my honeymoon in Mexico. I specifically wanted a waterproof but stylish camera and this fit the bill perfectly. Over all this camera is pretty easy to use once you got use to the interface. There were a lot of preset options so it was easy to switch from panoramic to low light etc. We took countless panoramics with it which turned out great. The panoramic feature is really easy to use.
Small, Nice Features, super fast, but variable Image quality

Summary: I bought this camera (Sony Cyber-shot Tx5) to replace a 2 year old olympus stylus tough that had leaked and to supplement a Fuji Finepix F200 EXR with waterproof case. This will be a little comparison for waterproof cameras and cased cameras. Skip to the bottom if you just want to read about the cyber-shot. The olympus was a pretty good camera, mediocre to good image quality, slow as far as shutter lag, and unfortunately it eventually leaked after 2 years.
Summary: I bought this camera due to it's waterproofness and apparent toughness. It takes great pictures and the interface is easy to use once you figure out where everything is. Even with all the great features of this camera, I'm going to send it back. After using it for a couple weeks in water and on dry land, the paint is chipping off. The camera still works but I thought this was supposed to be a "tough" camera.
Summary: For anyone contemplating on buying this camera. Please test out the underwater feature immediately. I thought I had 30 days (from shipping date) to test and return/exchange the camera if defective. I tested mine too late (past the 15 day return policy of Amazon seller Abt Electronics). I tested mine in a swimming pool less than 1 foot and under a minute. It left a penny-sized mark on the bottom right corner of my LCD screen like the water seeped through.
great features, bad design, Sony doesn't stand behind warranty

Summary: the phone itself is great. the pictures it takes are great, the user interface is simple and there are many great features like panoramic, night mode, etc. However...this particular model has design issues. Sony has acknowledged that it used a weak glue on the lens cover, so many users will find their lens cover coming unglued. This happened to me. Sony fixed it quickly, for free, but it was still inconvenient and i was without a camera for a few weeks.
Summary: Buying the camera on the first day it was available on Amazon, I've had the pleasure and mispleasure of using it on several trips. The good: - Build quality is really good; it has a solid feel to it and is comfortable in the hand. I find the controls easy to use and the touch sensitive display is superb. - The panoramic shots are superb and a bit of a show grabber (ok, I like my gadgets!
Pros: LEVE, PORTABILIDADE, LCD, COMANDO, BELEZA
Cons: QUALIDADE DA IMAGEM SOB A AGUA, FUNCIONALIDADE, SEM CONTROLE MANUAL, ENTROU AGUA NA PISCINA
