Excerpt: I bought the Sony Cybershot a while ago from BestBuy. I got it because it is on sale and I have a BestBuy rewards card. The camera cost me $299.99. Compared to the original price, I felt that this is a good deal.
Summary: I really like this camera - this is why I bought another one after the first one showed that it was NOT waterproof... The bad thing about this was, that after one year I did not get a new one. Warranty had expired. Expensive deal.
Summary: I did not buy this camera to take pictures underwater, not what it's best at. What it is best at, at least for me, is withstanding the rigorous activities I put it through. It is tiny, I wear it on a lanyard around my neck so it is always there. I kayak with it, paddleboard with it, hike mountains with it and so much more.
Summary: this camera has great quality for it's size and the fact alone that it's lens do not come out, and it is waterproof. the quality underwater is amazing, and it's cool to use. it's been through so much, and i even bought it a second time after the first one broke! the only problem i've ever had with the camera itself is that the latch which holds the battery and memory card secure often breaks, or won't snap back in, which restricts how often and where you can use the...
Summary: Used it for 2 years, works or worked fantastic, last hiking (April 2013) trip the lens started vibrating uncontrollably, now cannot take any photo's at all. I googled the problem and found many many forums discussing (complaining) about this; I expect a digital camera to last more than 2 yrs. ps - the lens isn't vibrating today as it rests in a drawer...go figure.
Summary: I've owned four point and shoot cameras over the past 10 years, and this one is by far the best one in terms of durability and night time picture quality. My previous Canons were pretty good until they stopped working after 2-3 years.
Summary: Other than the few chips out of the finish, this camera has held up well and performs. Great battery life, takes great pics and video and is compact enough to stick in a pocket. We purchased a floating wrist strap to keep it from ending up on the bottom of a river or lake, and it allows us to be carefree when playing in the water.
