Great little camera until it breaks

J. Holman, Amazon
18 June 2013
  • Summary: As has been noted by at least one other reviewer, the door cover over the battery and memory card won't stay closed after a while. In my case, virtually every time I set the camera down (no matter how gently), the door pops open. That's a shame, since otherwise it's a great little camera. But unless you want to carry around a roll of scotch tape as an accessory to keep the door closed, this manufacturing defect renders the WX9 nearly useless.

Good specs and price but SLOW operation

J.Murphy, Amazon
25 December 2011
  • Summary: This camera has great specs and price but has a really slow processor. It needs maybe 2 seconds between photos and takes 3 seconds to start recording video. WIth this lag I often missed the action I was trying to record. Also its low-light photography was poor - nothing compared to a Canon. I'm returning it.

Picture not clear. Close up macro OK. Slow sluggish processing

A. Mehra "Neil", Amazon
3 December 2011
  • Summary: Nice little gadget with enough features. But in my opinion a clear picture is most important. Closeup images in macro mode are good, so unless you are doing object photography for your web site this camera does not take portrait and group pictures of humans very sharp, and that's what counts. I tried it on a flower, a pen and many tiny thing.

Disappointing still photos and ergonomics

E. Dowd, Amazon
7 October 2011
  • Summary: I bought this at Target a week ago, tested it extensively on still photos, and returned it after three days. I have been an amateur photographer since the days of folding cameras. I used also an early fixed lens slr (name escapes me), and then Olympus compacts, then Olympus Pen FT, then Olympus OM 1, then a Nikon 5000 digital compact, then a Sony w12 digital compact which is very sharp outdoors, and now a Canon G12. I got fine results with all of them.

SO MAD

mabelyn07, Amazon
11 September 2011
  • Summary: UGH!! From my knowledge, this is a brand new camera, I've only had it for a couple of months and it has stopped working for no reason! I never take it out in bad weather and I have yet to even drop it, but it won't work. The shutter is always getting stuck and now everytime I turn it on it tells me to turn it off and back on again, and after doing so it just repeats the message. I am so mad!!!

Terrible battery life

MishN, Amazon
7 September 2011
  • Summary: Im not a fan of this camera at all. When you take a picture and view it on the screen all of the colors come up very bright and inaccurate. I haven't had a chance to print up the pictures to see if the colors are inaccurate once printed, but it is a bit annoying to deal with the bright colors on the camera itself. I find the menu options to be slightly confusing, but after spending some time with the camera i was able to navigate throughout it and figure some of it out.
