perfect camera with imperfect attchment end!
4 November 2013
Summary: The item arrived with the charger with wrong sized end which made it impossible to charge and hence had to be returned for a replacement. This also came with the the same problem - charger with wrong sized end! Amazon reps were very good about this and this time they gave me 20$ to go and buy a new adapter. However I would have preferred not having to go out and get an attachment which should have come at least the second time around!
Summary: To intall WiFi Be sure to copy the entire site: http://www.sony.co.jp/imsoft/Mac/ otherwise you will get Japanese. I had a lot of trouble to get the WiFi to work - maybe it's me If you use the web info and not the printed sheet that comes with the camera, you will have better luck with the install.
Summary: This is a super zoom with a relatively small image sensor. I knew going in that picture quality would not be the best and this is the case. Do not expect to enlarge any image this camera takes - it will not be pretty. For images that fill the frame AND are taken with good lighting the camera does a decent job. That will be its only purpose for me, zooming in on too distant architectural items during travel. I have other cameras to use for everything else.
SONY is improving but still has a few things to nail

Summary: I have tried SONY HX20V (and its predecessor HX9V), and this camera is an improvement over HX20V in that the i) Camera body is compacter ii) Flash doesn't pop up iii) Battery life is improved iv) Charging position doesn't require camera to lie on the lens or LCD but some old problems still persist and new ones have been added i) Video's (AVCHD) have lines in the last frame when played on Windows Media Player on Windows 7 (there is no clean ending of the movie).
Summary: SUMMARY I really love the styling of the camera but, unfortunately, the detail image quality is just so bad that I have to return the camera. Cons: - blurry details (when you zoom in to see the pixels) - heavily distorted image at the corners and edge (at wide angle) - weak WIFI iPhone app implementation (super slow when showing the current live view) - long processing time (e.g.
Summary: The reason I chose this camera was the still image focus and zoom capability. The still image focus was not to my liking. i would say that the camera was easy to use. I returned it and am upgrading to another Sony hoping for better still focus and zoom.

Summary: Though typically a Canon devotee, I was on the verge of replacing a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX50 16.2 MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom and 2.7-inch LCD (Black) (2012 Model) with a similarly-ranged Canon, when I had the opportunity to give Sony another try. The results were... mixed. The positives: +Image quality can be exceedingly good. I'm hesitant to say "rivaling a DSLR", but in the right hands, it's entirely possible.
Summary: Yes, I think it can and this one may well be. Yes, it takes great pics and the image stabilization seems quite good from what I can tell so far. Lots of bells and whistles as is so common these days. Honestly, I think a lot of them are gimmickly and I will never use them, but if that is something you enjoy about a camera, you will find quite a few here. And the screen is a very nice size. But... First, this camera really does not have a very solid feel.
Summary: The quest to find the perfect compact digital camera which takes excellent Photos and 1080p videos at the same time is no easy matter. I have tried various models from various manufacturers (primarily Canon & Sony) each one seems to contradict each other. While one model impresses you with Photo quality but fails miserably in video. There is always one thing or the other that disappoints me.
Summary: I had been waiting for this camera for months and was very excited to be able to get one the first day of its release. Took it home, charged the battery, popped in the SD card and went outside to snap some pix. Very fast to power up and the zoom speed and focus speed - terrific! In my backyard and at a nearby lake, the images captured were very nice. Later that night, at full zoom, I captured a terrific image of the moon. Very detailed and I was again very pleased.
