Sony W310 Overview The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W310 digital camera is a 12.1-megapixel design with a 4x optical zoom lens. The Sony W310's lens offers a 35mm-equivalent range from a useful 28mm wide angle to a moderate 112mm telephoto. The lens has a two-step aperture which offers either f/3.0 or f/4.3 at wide angle; at telephoto the maximum aperture is f/5.8, and the minimum aperture isn't stated. Read more
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W310 is small (3.8 inches by 2.2 inches by 0.7 inches) and inexpensive, but reviewers say other digital cameras are better choices. For example, the highly rated Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS (*Est. $150) also has a 4x zoom lens, 12-megapixel image sensor, shoots standard-definition video and is just a little thicker and shorter than the Sony -- but the Canon shoots better photos in test after test. I personally like the camera because it’s highly portable and the features it have work as it should. I particularly like the smile detection shutter which works impressively well in most situations. It even detected smiles from other photos which is great. it has pretty decent zoom range with digital zoom as well which doens’t realy do the camera any favors. Read more
I see a lot of people here bad mouthing this camera. What a bunch of morons. If they would read the manual for a half a second this is not that hard of a camera to operate. In fact one of the simplest I have found to operate. It's all about how you program and set it up. This camera is a no brainer. For the morons out there just set it up for all automatic everything. Than you should have no problem but to point and shoot. Read more or see product

All in all this is a really good camera just to have around the house. If you're trying to become a photographer then I suggest keep looking, but if you want a digital camera to give to your grandparents or even your parents, this just might be the one. It's very small and compact and easy to tote around on vacations and what not. I'd recommend it for the average person who wants to take average pictures. Read more
I think it is good for one who want to start his photographic hobby. it has a very good images quality. For video it is good but you can't zoom while you recording video. Some thing that i don't like in this camera is that you can't start the flash during video recording that's mean if you are in a dark place you can't record a good movie.I interested in smile shutter function . Finally i think it is very good in taking fixed photo. And i like it. Read more
