Summary: I purchased this camera NEW at Staples when it was $149; Best Buys had it at same price. I took vewry good care of it and was happy with it for three years. Then problems began with the lens and zoom. Lens went in and out on it own, locked, using the zoom caused camera power to shut down. Did everything possible for fix--nothing worked. Checked online and youtube, and found many others were having the same problem and no fix for it.
Summary: Wow, I bought this camera a long time ago, now I have a SLDR camera and now I'm at a pro level but this camera is just simply good, it works in every environment, actually i like to bring it to the clubs or bars, it takes really nice photos in dark places. Recommended. (Although there are several newer models).
Excerpt: Sony Cyber-Shots are amazing! Mine is an 8 megapixel with 5x optical zoom. I love it. I got it before a trip to boston and was so delighted with the quality of pictures and filming. It captured clear pictures on a whale watching trip as well as excellent video. One negative is you can't adjust the zoom once you start recording. Other than that, this camera has preformed beautifully in very close up and distant shots.
Excerpt: I bought my Sony Cyber-Shot last year with my taxes. I've used it almost everyday since and have had some beautiful pictures come from it! I wanted to make sure I had a low cost camera yet one that took great pictures. I found that in this camera! I love the size of the LCD screen and I also like that it comes with a rechargable battery, buying standard size batteries runs into some money and they usually don't last long.
This camera is easy to use and takes great pictures.

Excerpt: I received this camera for Mother's Day a couple of years ago, and it has been great. It takes good photos, is easy to use, and has long battery life. It is very compact, fitting easily into a purse or even a pocket. This could be a downfall for someone with large hands. The camera has several modes, including a video mode. I pretty much always use the auto adjustment mode, which serves me well.
Excerpt: This Sony CyberShot digital camera seems to work well, and is quite convenient. I take pictures constantly, so I like that it's small enough to take with me everywhere and it turns on quickly so I can take pictures quickly. 6.0 megapixels for great picture quality and a good-sized screen. Only problem is the flash. I call this my 'day camera' because shooting things in low light or at night is tricky.
Excerpt: I bought the Sony Cyber shot digital camera for my mom who up until recently refused to use a digital camera b/c of "how complicated" they are. This camera is simple for her to use and get great pictures with. The price is very reasonable as well.
Excerpt: I have had this camera for years now and never had any problems with it. Let me tell you something, this camera clicks pictures with amazing photo quality which is second to none. It has a great battery life, needs to be charged probably once a week if you click pictures daily. It comes with a usb connector to transfer pictures to the computer. And it takes absolutely no time to move pictures to the computer.
Excerpt: The Sony Cybershot is a decent point and shoot camera providing quality pictures when you want to capture life's many moments. The optical zoom featured on this camera allows you to view images more closely without changing your position. However, when I viewed some of the photos on my computer, they look a little fuzzy when I look at them in their full size, but that is probably am issue due to the resolution selection.
Excerpt: My family used this camera for a few years before attempting to upgrade to a better model. During that time we were very pleased with the Sony DSC-W30 Cybershot. For a small camera to take along on family trips or for snapping pictures of everyday events, this camera provided some quality shots. The colors were clear and vibrant.
