Summary: This camera lasted a week before it quit working! Unfortuniatly I was oversees when it quit and it was a year before I came back into the states and could turn it in on warrenty! I still feel Sony or at least Amazon should take it back or in the least, repair it! I therefor limit my purchases from Amazon because of this!!!!
Summary: Sony should be ashamed. As a longtime leader in electronics, this camera has developed a reputation as being problematic. Just look in the eBay listings and you'll see countless DSC-W220 cameras being sold for parts. WHY? because after the initial honeymoon, the lens of this camera will NOT stand the test of time. My camera's zoom lens failed within the warranty period. I sent it in to the repair center in Laredo TX ...
Summary: This was an okay camera until it broke due to exploding internal parts! I bought it in fall of last year for a trip to Sweden and it was okay. Then this year we took it to Japan. We went on a hike and tried to take a picture of a shrine and heard a very loud "pop" sound from the camera. After that the flash never worked again.
Summary: We purchased this camera in September 2009. It no longer works. Through normal use, this camera has "corrosion" damage. The bill to fix? $250. It's more than the camera cost. Sony customer service has been the pits through all of this too. Nobody cares about fixing the problem. We have several cameras that are 2 - 3 years old and they still work (and certainly they have been used in FAR harsher conditions than this one. We are done purchasing Sony products.
Summary: This camera has the worst battery life I have ever experienced. I have had many Sony digital cameras. I have to charge this camera or at the very least check the charge level before every use. I am also very sad Sony has moved away from showing remaining battery life in minutes, now we just get the bars and you never know how long the last bar is going to last. Especially when it gets to that last bar in a matter of hours.
Summary: Bought this camera since it had good reviews and have a couple friends that like the camera. Took about 50 pictues and all were blurry. I called Sony support but they did not help at all. So returned the camera. I am not sure if I got a lemon or if camera truly takes bad pictures. So, still using a 8 year old Olympus that take great pics, but is very slow and bulky.
Summary: The Canon Ixus is a much better camera. This camera can't cope with dim lighting and is constantly over exposed. You are paying for the Sony name and not a quality camera. I'm selling it instantly!
poor quality and stopped working. My last Sony camera

Summary: I cannot recommend this canera and am revising my policy of always buying Sony products. This is my 4th Sony compact and I have been pleased withe quality and design before now. They usually last a couple of years. With this model, the quality of the controls was much less than previous models. Not as pleasant to use. i have previously enjoyed the toyuch and feel of the precision quality engineering. This model felt cheap and nasty by comparison.
Summary: I brought this after looking at all the positive reviews, and am so disappointed. I can never get decent action shots, so am constantly missing out on pictures of my kids running around, such as today in the snow on their sledge, not one decent photo out of about 20 that I took, ended up just giving up on it. I previously had a fuji fine pix which I am now seriously thinking about going out to purchase again. The battery life seems to run down really quickly too.
