Summary: I've tried other models before and the Sony Cybershot 12.1 has always proven to be the best. I have always LOVED the quality of the photos and it's very easy to use. I actually prefer my Sony pictures over my $899 Canon DSLR!
Summary: I had the Sony cyber Shot 2.0 and the Sony Cyber Shot 7.2 they worked real well for what I was useing them for shots on the road, etc this DCS-W190 is about a 1/4 of the size of the 2.0 and about 1/2 the size of the 7.2 and has the same functions, the other two always buying batteries, nice to have a charger with this one, noticed some bad reviews on this ? but I was comfortable with the product and not trying to be an Ansel Adams. This is a great camera for the price.
Very Handy Little Camera - Good for Documenting Projects

Summary: I bought this camera when it first came out some time in 2009 and have been using it ever since. While I have used it for general as well as as some artsy photography, it is now mostly used to document my automotive projects. Its small design, strong flash, and good focus make it very ideal for photographing parts in tight spaces. And the pictures come out very sharp, though every thing needs a bit of quick touching up in a photo editor.
Summary: This camera is one of the best cameras I have ever owned. The picture quality is uncomparable. My family and friends ask all the time what photographer took the pictures that I have, and they are surprised when they find out that it was just me using my Sony w-190. I have had this camera for almost a year and it has worked great. The only drawback I have is no zoom when you are recording, but I can live with that.
Summary: This is a great camera for the average picture taker. The images are much better if you use a tripod and set the timer, Takes great close ups. I wish it had better night time abilitys, such as stars and the moon., as far as campfire it works fine. The video play back leaves a bit to be desired, but I have a dvd camera for that so it is not an issue, but it works great for spur of the moment recording.
