Summary: I used this camera in the Grand Canyon while whitewater rafting. It took awesome, beautiful pictures. Also my daughter used it at a later date to take pictures under water in a pool and again the camera took clear pictures.
Nice camera for underwater, but not so tough. Better than Olympus!!

Summary: I got this for my daughter after our Olympus Tough fell 16 inches and broke on the carpet (yes carpet)....but that's another story. It was very handy and took good pictures for us. She liked the touchscreen and the various picture modes and the cool sliding lens cover. The underwater pictures turned out great. However being 14, she dropped this one too, approximately 2.5 feet onto the pavement....the case cracked and was unfixable.
Great except for the slide design that always keeps one side wet.

Summary: This has so many reviews already, I don't think there's anything much I can add about its features that others haven't talked about yet. I really like the features, the color (since it easily catches the eye and that is important when you're moving about), and the size. Pretty much everything about it, I like. That is, everything except for the fact that it's a bit of a hassle trying to dry it up after using/washing it. The slide design keeps one side wet.
Excerpt: I bought this camera for it's underwater feature. I have not used it underwater yet, but as i familiarize myself with its use, i like the touchscreen features and the ease to use the camera and the ? on screen. The pictures i took during our thanksgiving family dinner is very good. I also like the size of the camera, small but loaded with great features. I will highly recommend this camera to my friends and relatives, who will want a user friendly high tech camera.
Excerpt: I carry this camera with me daily, to capture local scenery, weather conditions, and events, and also use it to document my artwork and family activities. Video is typically of children's activities and school performances. This TX30 replaced my 3-year-old TX10 that gave out, under warranty. One of its features that engaged my interest in the first model is that the lense stays in place, rather than extending forward when in use, even when the zoom is being used.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Battery Life, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Small / Compact
Great general use camera, and more rugged than you realize.

Summary: This camera is a nice balance for people with active lives. To be honest, more and more of our photo taking is done using our phones with results varying out to good, however, when you are going to the beach, or bike riding, or doing something else where a little ruggedness is handy, you can't beat these. They have great default features, and I've taken them 15' down snorkeling, which in my mind makes it a must. Try taking your iphone down 15'... I dare ya!
