Conclusion: The Sony Cyber-shot T9 features a 6 megapixel CCD, 3x zoom lens, 2.5 inch LCD, optical image stabilization and high sensitivity mode. The 2.5 inch LCD is high in resolution though not that clear in low-light.
Pros: Good battery life, Optical image stabilizer, High-resolution 2.5 inch LCD, 1 cm macro mode, Usable high ISO (Even at ISO 640), Unlimited VGA 30 FPS movie mode, Average image quality
Cons: No manual controls (at all!), Slow and limited continuous shooting, Performance could be faster and better, Weak flash, Redeye and some corner softness
Conclusion: I really liked the looks of the DSC-T9 and it takes solid but not D-SLR level photos yet that’s an unreasonable expectation for a $400 point-and-shoot camera. Only a few competitors like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9 and the Konica Minolta DiMage X1 have image stabilization which really make this...
Pros: Super thin 6MP digicam with optical image stabilization
Summary: Introduction The Sony Cybershot DSC-T9 is Sony’s latest entry into its ultracompact T Series (DSC-T1, DSC-T5, DSC-T9), all credit card sized cameras with Carl Zeiss optics and sliding lens covers.
Pros: Great size, Quick operation, Good battery life, Super SteadyShot
Cons: Weak flash, High ISO noise, "Dust problem", Poor low-light performance
Excerpt: When I first saw photos of the new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T9 ($449), my first thought was "oh good, ANOTHER one of these!". Upon further inspection I found that this is more than another ultra-thin T-series Sony camera.
Pros: Stylish, ultra-thin metal body, Optical image stabilizer, Very good photo quality, Impressive high ISO performance for a compact camera, Snappy performance, Large, high resolution LCD display; visible in bright outdoor light and dim indoor light, AF-assist lamp; good (but sluggish) low light focu...
Cons: Redeye, No manual controls; custom white balance and long shutter speed modes needed, Annoying sliding lens cover, No optical viewfinder, Flash, while better than before, is on the weak side, Flimsy cover over memory card / battery compartment, Bundled software isn't the greatest
Summary: The Cyber-shot DSC-T9 is the first of Sony's ultra-slim "T" series cameras to offer both Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization and high light sensitivity. With these Sony technologies, the six-megapixel DSC-T9 delivers more detailed images with significantly less blur and graininess than...
Conclusion: The plus points of the Sony DSC T9 far outweigh any negatives. Picture quality is very good and Sony appears to have nailed shutter lag. I am happy to recommend this digital camera to anyone looking for a good quality pocket sized model. Be warned it doesn't come cheap though.
Pros: Picture quality, Shutter lag, Large internal memory, Style and design
