I love my little camera
9 September 2012
Excerpt: My daughter got me this camera last year for Christmas, and I wasn't at all sure that I wanted a digital camera. I had a nice camera that still used film. I knew how to use that one and wasn't very sure that I could master something so technical. I was wrong!! It is actually pretty easy to use. It takes excellent pictures. My kids showed me how to download the pictures and even printed them for me. It was really pretty easy. I don't know what I was so afraid of.
Summary: Like a previous buyer but in my case after 20 months of usage, the SS Unit - which I understand to be the Steady Shutter Unit failed. Problem is: as per another review -the camera vibrates when powered on and difficult to stop, so assume it is a design fault that Sony do not accept Is it a manufacturing fault that needs a recall? Cost me £90+ to get repaired Was told that if people were having the problem then a recall would be done, but no one has complained...
Summary: I've owned this thing for almost 2 years now and it's still going strong. i use it primarily for video but i still snap a few pics here and there. it does a nice job, not the BEST for pictures but for the most part the pics are clear and sharp (i use the black and white mode a lot). the video mode is where this thing earns its stripes. they come out beautiful, i can take screens from my videos that look better than pics from other cameras.
Summary: Hi!!, I just bought this cam and I really like it, good pics, but anyway I have a problem, when I want to make a video, the cam shows me a message saying that the "NEW memory stick" don't have space, is telling is full, how in the heck could this be true when the memory stick is brand new (2gb), anybody had this problem, please help me with this.....could the cam be damaged???
Summary: Just a Brief: Pro's Great video performance as promised Pretty good pictures Looks sexy of course Wide touch screen looks and works good Cons: Very short battery life only way for connectivity is through the dock (no direct usb/hdmi) Dependant on the Dock Touch screen isn't bad, actually pretty good, but could be better No smile shutter ( I don't care but you might) For some reason sometimes pictures come out blurry poor performance in low light Some thoughts: The HD...
Summary: I HAVEN'T TRY IT YET BECAUSE I'M WAITING FOR MY MEMORY STICK TO BE DELIVERED BUT IS A NICE CAMERA, I LIKE THAT IS A TOUCH SCREEN, NICE, BUT THE INTERNAL MEMORY CAPACIT IS TO SMALL I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY MEMORY CARD TO TRY IT OUT.
Summary: I bought this instead of the Panasonic Lumix LX-3 thinking the HD video would be a great feature to have available. It is - but the touch screen interface is balky and not at all intuitive. The T-500 is also a slippery little devil - even if you hate them use the wrist strap ALWAYS or risk sending the camera on a one-way trip to the floor. Be sure to have a microfiber cleaning cloth/bag handy too as the beautiful LCD screen is a fingerprint magnet.
Pros: Bright LCD, Coolness Factor, Easy To Use, Great Picture Quality, Strong Construction
Cons: Memory Stick Media Only, Touch Screen Interface
