A decent , compact camera if you can find a good deal
9 September 2012
Excerpt: I've owned one of these for quite a few years now, and while it could certainly be better, it's been quite the little champ over time. The resolution is decent and the optical zoom is good enough for most needs. The internal memory has a decent amount of room, plus the additional SD slot makes expanding to a ton of storage very cheap and easy to do.
Sony Cybershot is a good little basic digital camera
9 September 2012
Excerpt: The Sony Cybershot S500 is a decent little camera. Moderately priced, it has a wide variety of features, a relatively large viewing screen and takes great pictures for its size and price. The entire SONY cybershot family has a reputation for good quality at an affordable price and this camera is entirely in agreement with that reputation. I have taken many pictures that friends have sworn could be Post-Card quality, and this camera has survived a lot of beatings.
Summary: I bought the second hand camera for $65 through bidding but i was surprised when i have to pay $56 for the shipment. so i am disappointed as i could have a new one in my own country for the same amount. the problem with the camera is that the place where we put the dry cell, the shutter does not shut properly and it may happen that the battery may fall out.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S500: Poor Picture Quality at Night

Summary: This camera does take great pictures in the daytime, but it takes a little long to actually take the picture making it more difficult to get the shot you want and your hand has to be completely still or the picture will be blurry. It takes awful pictures at night. The pictures are so dark you really can't see whatever it was you were taking a picture of and if you do happen to get a picture that has enough light to see, it is usually EXTREMELY blurry.
Pros: Takes good pictures during the daytime
Cons: VERY poor picture quality at night, blurry pictures if hand moves at all
Excerpt: "...it yet (it takes the Sony Memory Stick Duo), but I find that there's plenty of space for my pictures if I don't use the highest quality setting. It holds about 150 pictures on the lowest quality setting without the memory card, and I put my pictures onto my computer pretty frequently, so space hasn't been an issue for me yet. The biggest problems I've run into so far are the lack of a delete-all function (as far as I can tell), and a problem with ...
