Summary: I bought a 5.1 mp Sony DSC-W1 in 2005 and use it to this day. In general, the DSC-W1 takes better pictures than the DSC-S2100 I hoped to replace it with. Summary: Received this as a present and within months, the camera began to eat through batteries after only a few photos. I started taking the batteries out after each use, thinking that would help. NOPE. I changed battery brand. NOPE. I called Sony and they'd love to repair it (at a charge). NOPE.
Summary: This camera's LCD began to have spots after 6 months after I purchased in Nov 2010. Although I have done nothing wrong (like dropping into the water) for the camera, Sony representatives have refused to repair under the 1 year warranty.
Summary: I got this camera as a gift without a gift receipt. I really don't like it. I am not a professional photographer, but I can take pictures pretty well. It doesn't show on this camera. Pictures are blurry, grainy, and just purely awful. I'm so disappointed.
Summary: This camera is used to take portrait pictures of people entering the facility where I work. The camera takes blurry photos with the SteadyShot on and only slightly better pictures with that feature turned off. All of the pictures taken with this camera are out of focus.
