The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX100V is powered by a 1/2.3 inch CCD Exmor R™ CMOS Sensor with Bionz Processor that provides users with approximately 16.1 megapixel output. Other features on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX100V include face detection, Smile Shutter, Soft Skin Mode, Background Defocus, GPS, backlight correction, Intelligent Sweep Panorama, 3D Sweep Panorama, and 9 points auto focus. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX100V is a digital camera that provides users with 16.2 effective megapixels image output via its Exmor R™ CMOS sensor which boosts sensitivity while reducing image noise for low-light pictures. It also supports a 30x optical zoom/27mm wide angle Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens which brings the subject closer and support wide angle for group shots/landscapes. The camera also features Intelligent Sweep Panorama which automatically combines a burst of images to create extra-wide panoramic pictures, even with moving subjects in the frame; 3D Sweep Panorama that helps users capture extra-wide 3D panoramic images; Sweep Multi Angle where users can shoot a burst of images to see subjects from different angles; 3D Still Image where the camera shoots two successive frames, analyzes distance to create a single 3D image; background defocus which create professional-looking images with a crisp foreground subject against a smoothly blurred background; high speed autofocus as little as 0.1 seconds; tracking focus which maintains sharp, accurate focus, even if the subject is moving; GPS and Compass which automatically geotags images and video clips; continuous shooting with burst of images at up to 10 frames per second; 1080i Full HD movie recording using AVCHD format (1920x1080i); PMB Portable support that lets users transfer images to sharing sites when camera is connected to any web-enabled computer; and In-Camera Guide.
