Summary: I had canceled the order and was expecting the postal sticker to return the camera . THIS did not happen. The camera was not bad gently used; but to much money for a used camera and battery, with no instructions or accesories
Summary: I purchased this camera in October 2011. It comes with a one year warranty. After 1 year and 10 months, the camera stopped working. I called Sony, who told me that I could send it in to them and they will repair it for a flat fee of $107. Completely unacceptable!! I purchased a Sony thinking I would get a product that would last. I will never buy a Sony again!
Summary: This was a birthday gift for my 13 year and after taking a looking at the cam and playing around with it I was so impressed I want to buy for myself!!! I love it and so did my daughter! Takes beautiful keen shots and they look professional. Awesomeness!!!! - However, I we didn't get too many uses out of it after two weeks, the camera ended up defected because the shutter did not close when being shut off and there is a buzzing sound like trying to do its thing and shut...
Summary: If you're looking for a compact, simple to use digital camera that takes good photos, look elsewhere. I'm pretty good with digital cameras and typically try most of the superfluous features on them - but this camera (Cyber-Shot DSC H70) just doesn't take good photos even with all of the fiddling with features.
Summary: The pro side of this camera is close-up pictures. It does an exellant job. You can litterally be INCHES from the subject, where as my DSLR, even using the 50mm I must be around a foot away from subject. The downside, It does a horrible job focusing on distant subjects, as well as moving subjects. I tried taking arial shots, and about 80% did NOT trun out. Focus was either non existant, blurred, or fuzzy.
Summary: I bought this camera based on the reviews, without a demo. This was a BIG mistake. It has an exceptionally long "processing" time once you click the shutter of around 4 seconds, you don't see a freeze frame, but a black screen during that time. At the end of the 4 second delay, it FLASHES the image very quickly, in less than a second. If you want to see what you have, you have to mash buttons to go and look at it.
Summary: Certainly a full featured, easy to use camera. I bought it for the larger lens, hoping for improved quality. Shooting medium to distant is good, anything close up gets a fisheye distortion. I'm really very disappointed with the camera.
Summary: I had a canon powershot A720IS which took great pictures and was pocket-sized. I wanted to upgrade the optical power from 6X to 10X or higher and have gone through several cameras that had poor picture quality. This camera took OK pictures but not as good as the powershot I had. The deal breaker was that the owner's manual was only in html format and not pdf so it could not be downloaded in its entirety-only 1 page at a time!
Summary: My good Canon Power Shot A2000is broke down after my daughter took it to the beach and sand got into it. I did some research looking for a replacement and finally decided to give Sony a try after doing some comparison shots in the Imaging-Resource web site. The shots taken by the Sony H70 fared really well compared to shots taken by the more expensive Canon Power Shot ELPH 500 HS. I went ahead and bought the Sony DSC-H70 with the blue finish.
