This camera is easy to use, has a good image quality, has enough options and can be used manual wich is pretty unique for a compact digital camera.

the manual is typical sony, a lot of companies can learn there , there are even 2 here . a standard guide and a special guide for even more tips and tricks.

Sony also provides a download of the software even in my case where you did not buy the camera new .

This camera has a hd film option, sweep panorama mode and a easy mode and a programmed auto (P) and a intelligent Auto and a Manual mode .

the zoom controls are fine too. the lens has a long reach and a good quality for a compact camera , digital images are pretty good when processed there even better.

the display has a optimal resolution of 230.000 pixels at 3 inch size, so you get a idea if the image is good or not

i can recommend the camera for enthausiast and starters

    • image quality, Easy to use, Resolution , sony G-lens, accu, options

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55 is a digital still camera that it designed in a certified waterproof (up to 10 feet deep) form factor that houses a lens with Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization and a display with touch operation. The 10.2 megapixel camera also features an “Exmor R” CMOS sensor that is also certified to be freeze proof down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, shockproof up to about a 5-foot drop and dust proof.

Features

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55 features 10x optical zoom via its Sony G lens with 25mm wide-angle (equivalent) that affords the user better shots from greater distances and of wider landscapes. Featuring a 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor, the camera lets users take panoramic shots in one sweeping motion with Sweep Panorama™ mode. They can also frame and view photos on its three-inch (measured diagonally) Clear Photo™ LCD screen (230,400 pixels). The H55 supports HD recording and offers Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization to help reduce blur in photos. Other features on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55 include Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode, which lets users shoot smoother movie clips even if they are walking while shooting; Active Mode, when combined with Optical SteadyShot, allows a moveable lens element inside the camera to shift to compensate for camera shake; HD movie recording (1280 x 720 at 30p); Self portrait timer that automatically takes the shot two seconds after one or two faces are detected; Smile Shutter™ to automatically capture smiles and iAUTO and Easy modes which automatically adjusts the settings on the camera to allow for optimized image capture; and memory card slot compatible with both Memory Stick® (PRO Duo™) and class-four and above SD/SDHC formats for extended storage capacity. The H55 is available in black and silver this April for about $250.

  • Kindly help,

Kindly help, i am planning to buy a point and shoot camera. i am confused which camera should i buy. i want to buy one of the Sony DSC-W350 or Sony H55 i would be taking picture indoor/outdoor/low light/day light/traveling/party etc(Mainly for travel/sightseeing and taking pictures of people. ).My wife and parents would be using the same. i just love taking pictures but i am not very good in photography The constraint of my budget is 11500INR (200-245$) but i am highly confused with both i have not found much reviews of the H55 wheras i like the w350 on basis of looks, price and easy to carry.Does w350 zoom during a 720pHD movie..?? i want a camera with 1) GOOD IMAGE QUALITY (most important for me) 3) less/anti blur 4) Good image stabilization 5) 4-5x zoom and 10 megapixels is ok to me 6) Most of the time i would be using Auto mode (i would change scene selection mode) 7) red eye reduction 8) i will NOT be shooting sports and/or action photos 9) some time i would be taking prints of images but not very huge Thanks for your time and advise pls do kindly help regards
