Summary: I am writing this review to warn shoppers that this model is not, as the Amazon site notes, "a newer model" for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V. Based on that statement I bought this to replace the DSC-HX10V (which sadly, I lost) and am grossly disappointed. Even the Sony website, which I checked before purchasing states that this camera has Optical SteadyShot image stabilization - but at least 3 out of 5 images I shoot are blurry.
Summary: This camera reminds me of another that I own, a Kodak Easyshare Z5010, in both style and functionality, and that isn't a good thing. I'll start off with the basics. The zoom is impressive. The bulkiness of the camera is exactly what I want in a camera. I'm not a pocket cam person and like the feel of a nice sturdy well built machine that feels good in my hands.
Summary: Excellent picture quality. Video quality is also fine it automatically adjusts the focus based on the white balance and sound quality is also fine. I think no camera at this price can record digital sound. So don't take it as a disadvantage. I feel the nh-mi AA batteries are far better than AA alkaline and lithium batteries, fully charged batteries give 5 hour shooting time. And they can be charged for 1000 times.
