Excerpt: For $ bucks you get a 20MP camera, with optical image stabilization, a 18-55mm lens and a solid performer for the entry level. My wife is delighted with this camera since she starts to study professional photography and she wants a good DSLR but not expensive until she is ready for the major leagues.
Pros: Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Stabilization, Quiet
Summary: Great camera. I was a little skeptical about purchasing, do to all the functions i would have to learn. But after reading manual and watching a couple tutorials, got it figured out. Great night time picture quality as well. taking it on my cruise 9/21/2014, see what its got.
Excerpt: Took this camera system to the 70th Anniversary of D Day in Normandy France. It performed as expected and the pics are truly great. The one issue I had with the camera is in low light. Even in manual focus mode, the camera refused to take a picture when it couldn't find its own focus points. Went to full manual mode but the opportunity for the jump into Normandy was lost. Otherwise, this is a strong camera system and I enjoyed using it.
Excerpt: I am a real estate photographer. My 'go-to' camera , a Sony SLT A35, had to be sent in for repair. I bought this as a back-up, as I liked the SLT feature. This had as many features as my A35, which cost me twice as much when I bought it. The A58 is 20mp as compared to the 16mp of the A35. I highly recommend this camera. I have found the Sony cameras stand up well to travel and frequent use in various conditions.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization
Summary: This is a great package and although many people may not be talking about the SONY line of DSLR's they should be. The autofocus allowed in the video is cool, due to the whole transluscent mirror technology.
