Summary: Now we're halfway through 2013 and the camera is still working perfectly. I often use it to shoot artwork, which I usually do in full sun. It is not a great camera for low-light photography and the flash does not improve things. The video feature is reliable, but the sound quality is poor.
Summary: The main reason I got this camera was because it was a lot cheaper than most other DSLRs. I had never had a Digital camera before and this camera's features were super easy to use and the cameras help guide is very useful and thorough, they also use simple terms to break it down easier for...
Summary: Excellent camera for beginners and weekend shooters. Great bang for the buck. Finding it on Ebay for a great bargain was an extra plus. I highly recommend the product to any first time/average user who wants to take some good quality pics without having to know every technical detail.
An excellent camera for the amateur wildlife photographer

Summary: I bought my Sony A290 five months ago, and I've been using it regularly since. For starters, it must be said it's really easy to handle for most things. The usual complaint I've read about the grip being too small for large hands seems to be unfounded - sure, you don't have a lot of legroom, but...
After one (sunny) day, totally happy with the Sony A290

Summary: Took my new A290 to the local park/aircraft museum & got really great photos with everything set to standard. A tree with grey/green foliage, came out looking 100% natural, where other cameras have not looked so good. Green grass looked perfect.
Summary: Good camera for beginner, does not have easy review or delete access.slow processor. control button , I did not read post well should not have b id on this camera. It just does not do what I need it to M a100 is still a better fit for me.
Excerpt: This camera is my prized posession, with 14.2 megapixels the picture quality is stunning. It is very easy to use and has many options, including, sunset, night lights, portrait, macro, sports, etc. you can also customise the settings to your liking.
Pros: inexpensive, simple, fast, high quality photos .
Summary: This is extremely pricey for this camera. I bought mine for just under £300 at christmas from Comet. However, I will say this is a good camera for first time buyers, and amateur photographers.
Summary: This is my first DSLR camera and i have mixed feelings about it,. Since i'm a novice with DSLR's i have stuck to the Auto setting only trying the manual settings a few times with not so good results (Trying to learn though) The problem is the auto setting is very hit and miss.
